The Toxic Avenger - reborn at a theatre soon

Why is that a surprising move? Ahnold doesn't really have a career right now and his last movie was god awful and performed terribly. He'll take any movie he can get

:hehe:
Cause they say it's family friendly, meaning no sex and blood, I'm interested, and might give it a shot

Macon Blair to Direct and Write ‘Toxic Avenger’ Reboot for Legendary (EXCLUSIVE)

Macon Blair has been tapped to write and direct Legendary’s reboot of the cult classic “The Toxic Avenger,” sources tell Variety.

Blair, who spent the first half the decade in front of the camera in films like “Blue Ruin” and “Green Room,” recently moved behind the lens starting with his directorial debut, ” I Don’t Feel At Home in This World Anymore.” It had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and won the Grand Jury Prize following rave reviews. He also starred and co-wrote “Small Crimes” and wrote Jeremy Saulnier’s “Hold the Dark.”

This should be interesting.

‘Zola’ Star Joins ‘Toxic Avenger’ Remake Starring Peter Dinklage – Deadline

Taylour Paige has landed the female lead opposite Peter Dinklage and Jacob Tremblay in Legendary’s new Toxic Avenger movie. Macon Blair is on board to direct.

A contemporary reimagining of Troma Entertainment’s successful 1984 low-budget action comedy hit, The Toxic Avenger is steeped in environmental themes and subverts the superhero genre in the vein of Deadpool. When a struggling everyman is pushed into a vat of toxic waste, he is transformed into a mutant freak who must go from shunned outcast to underdog hero as he races to save his son, his friends and his community from the forces of corruption and greed. Troma’s Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz will serve as producers.

The craft service for just this cast is more than the entire Toxic Avenger series cost combined lol

One of the villains. Elijah is said to also be playing a villain.

Yeah, the movie is already being screened for critics before a trailer has even been released? Has that ever happened before?

Happens w films at festivals often, but it's usually smaller films that are still looking for distribution.
