Well this crisis really start to unfold in 2006 and will not end until 2016. Many keep calling it the Great Recession but that's just a word to cover up for the low level depressed economy. The war in Afghanistan will last ten years, Osama Bin Laden took ten years to find, and this economy will probably do the same.

The unemployment rate is really going to hurt Obama if it doesn't start to significantly improve.

The unemployment rate will end up killing Obama in 2012 if it doesn't significantly improve. He will not win Ohio, Nevada, Michigan, and Florida with these numbers.

In the end, the only thing that will save Obama at this rate is if the Republicans nominate someone like Bachmann.

Bachmann on the ticket period would hurt the Republicans the same way Palin did in 2008.

...so the unemployment rate has now climbed to 9.2 percent.

Wait until the U.S. default either this time or the next time the ceiling has to be raised, there are no other options left.

What's even worse is that the GOP doesn't have any ideas either...

America is falling like Rome and can't get up...that's just fantastic *sarcasm* >_<

You don't need ideas to begin with for political gain. Obama had no genuine ideas in 2008 and look at how that turned out for him. Nowadays, the only platform you have to run on is on how much the other side screwed up.

The point is that if this keeps up, Obama isn't going to win. Especially in economically depressed areas such as Florida, Nevada, and the Rust Belt.

It's just a very sad situation hippie...

Maybe I could run your campaign! :oldrazz:

I agree, as sad as the Republican field is, the referendum is on Obama, not them. And when you have a lot of young voters who can't even get a job a year out of college, they may not be vote Republican, but they won't be voting Democrat either. I can easily see Obama losing, as hard as it is to believe right now.

Awesome chart is awesome time.

This is going to be a hell of a decade...

2000-10 was a pretty bad decade. I'm starting to think this one will be even worse...

It's so depressing to be 32 and hear on the news non stop that it's going to take 6-8 years or more to recover. I'll be 40 frigging years old by the time that happens in order to be able to afford to save money and buy a house or something. I almost feel like taking the small amount of money I have now and letting it ride on lotto tickets.

There might be a chance we will return to pre-recession levels in 2020. Assuming they don't **** things up any further (chances are pretty high this will happen).

Well, looking at that chart its going to be a hell of a lot worse, and we are barely in it...
