This year's Punisher War Zone. :heart:

Oh man, this movie is ridiculously over the top but hilarious at the same time. It feels like this movie took itself more seriously than War Zone did, but in the end the ridiculous amounts of blood and gore were definitely very similar. It terms of tone, this movie was all over the place. It was definitely a mix of Punisher War Zone, 300, V for Vendetta and Hitman.
The opening sequence is ridiculously insane. The guy gets his face sliced in half! The bathroom fight was also pretty hilarious. Haha, that fat **** gets stabbed multiple times but still beats the **** out of Rain. What the ****?
Also, for someone who is suppose to be the best Ninja Assassin of all time, Raizo sure gets his ass handed to him, a lot. In fact, why was he the best assassin of all time? It's never explained. A lot of **** is never explained. Like why do the Ninjas have supernatural abilities? They take out an entire SWAT team and are invincible one moment, but then towards the end they're all mowed down with guns? What the hell? if the Ozunu Ninja Clan is suppose to be as secretive as they say they are, how does Europol come to find out about them? Also, why is it that no matter where you are stabbed, pools of blood burst out?
The acting is HORRIBLE in this movie, at times even painful to endure. The worst of them all is Naomie Harris and the kid who played as the younger Raizo, in fact, the whole plot of his flashback training were completely useless. But Harris, god damn was she bad. What's even worse is that they attempt to make her hot. :ugh: The guy at the bar in the beginning, holy hell...that guy was ****ing terrible. Rain was the only really decent actor, which is really sad actually. The plot for this movie wasn't particularly good, either.
One thing that was pretty awesome in this movie was the sound. The sound of the stars flying around and swords and chains clashing were really good. And naturally, the CGI was good.
All in all, I'm not sure how I feel about this movie. It was so over the top that it was hilarious, but it definitely had some terrible moments.
I'm still debating between a 5 or 6 out of 10 for this. Thankfully, I saw Fantastic Mr. Fox after this, which was awesome.
If you thought Punisher War Zone was hilarious, I'd recommend this. If you loathed it, stay far away.
One of those moments happens within the first 3 minutes. That was a kick ass opening scene.
