wait....Gamestops are selling it early??!!

Well, I went ahead and pre-ordered it. Mostly to get that 10 dollar rewards from Best Buy, but this actually looks like a good game.

Mines digitally. It was supposed to hit on XB1 at 7pm est.. But Pat said there was a glitch and it didn't hit until 8. I was prepared for midnight.. But I'll totally take this.

yup, this game is gorgeous. I told myself I wouldnt buy day one, just couldnt help myself lol

Just received my download code for my review copy of the game.

Honestly, I am not minding digital versions of games so far.

I just ordered mine from Gamestop. They called told me they are releasing it early "German Time" (timezone of the devs).

Sorry the Image is so big.

That was actually a panic move by GameStop as they were getting flooded with customers coming in to cancel their preorders(a deadly sin in the minds of GameStop) so they could just download and play the digital copy early. They made the decision to match digital around 6pm EST in order to stop the oncoming flood of canceled preorders One of the more recent examples at how digital is changing the retail landscape and GameStop is terrified

...this presents a quandary for me. I am anti-digital, but at the same time I hate Gamestop more than life itself.

Wish that had worked for my GameStop. I still have to wait till tomorrow.

Still, pretty surprised to have seen some GameStops doing. Definitely looked like a moment where they, as a company, saw the instruments of their demise flash before them.

I didnt even think of selling my PC copy. I regret that now as I really would prefer to play this on my PS4

Well I had planned to stay up a little last night and play the game.. I made it to the bar/in of the first town to ask about Yennifer before passing out.

Boo.

Haha yea my plan was to play until 4am, made it to 2am. Did get to where i could "import" my saves from the last game, but not much further than that. Now Im gonna hit the open world, level up a bit, find some more armor, do 'Witcher' s**t.

so, does the beginning have any sort of "recap" of the story so far?

If you choose the tutorial they show you who Geralt is looking for and why.

Yeah I'm gonna side quest the **** out of the game. I don't think I'm touching main story until I'm leveled a good bit. I saw a video of a guy who said he believed he hit the level cap (turns out he was just at the skill slot cap) and he only did a handful of main mission quests. and he was just mowing through enemies. Seemed tons of fun.. Like how is want to play the Witcher.. Just over powered.

Well, just got back from Gamestop and picked up my Collector's Edition. And man...is that box enormous. The only CE I can think of that may have been bigger was Skyrim's. It's a nice looking big damn box. The inside flap of the interior box that you open to get to the contents is signed by what seems like damn near everyone at CDPR, which was nice touch I thought.

I'm back on the path.

My copy and my strategy guide areived in pristine condition. Ive never seen so much crammed into a game case. Two stickers, a full map, a game manual, a cd of the sountrack, a compendium with general info on the world and characters, and a letter of thanks from the developers and studio promising 16 free DLCs. And the game came with a slipcover. This release has got to be the best value to hit consoles in a very long time.

And the premium hardback strategy guide is purty. It came with another little hardback book that details characters, lore, the magic, and the locations. Cant wsit to dive into all this.:up:
