The Witcher 3

I am going to go ahead and say it but this might just be the game of this generation. This game is simply amazing a game of pure brilliance. I haven't been enthralled in a game like this since.......ever. Just like Bioware of old CD projekt now has my money on any project they are releasing as what these guys have achieved is phenomenal. There is just a part of me that keeps wondering what if this was only PC executive how much more amazing would it look, not to say this isn't a gorgeous game already. I wonder what cyberpunk 2077 is going to be like.

It prob wouldn't look that much different. CDPR has said 100 times they aren't in the business of neutering one platform to favor another. They've always said they would push each platform to its limit. Witcher 2 is a good example. They focused entirely on the PC platform first then ported their game to the 360, and while the pc version was absolutely tops, it didn't look as tho it was some other game entirely.

I don't have that issue. So not sure how that's the games fault. I'm playing on a 42" TV and the text is no bigger or smaller than any other game. I certainly don't have to squint to read anything.

I'm playing on a 50" and am having trouble with some of the text and icons in the menus. It's the game's fault because there is plenty of space to have made the text and some of the icons bigger. Lots of unused black blank space in these menus. If I were playing on a PC with the monitor two feet in front of my face these menus would have been just fine, but on a tv screen ten feet from me it's a bit of a pain in the eye.

IA. I hate when games do that. Some are just better at scaling text and I would agree that its the developer's fault. I really wish more games would put scaling options for people that find the text too small

Didnt get to play much of this yesterday but what I have played seems excellent, finally a game on this gen living up to the hype. Looks great, I could stand and stare at the sky for hours lol and I like the fact the world is colourful and not another dull brown RPG throughout.

Lots to still understand and take in, but it seems like its going to be excellent, the side quests have as much story and background as the main quests and everything comes with choices of consequence. One guy already got hanged because of me!! (sorry dude!). My only minor gripe is horse control is a little squiffy and the camera can sometimes be a bit too close to Geralt, but its nothing major thats going to stop me enjoying this for hours and hours.

Yeah.. I agree about the text. My TV is 60".. And I have glasses.. And j still find myself squinting to read stuff.

I have just downloaded the free DLC the beard Dlc and the armour set one. Do I have to start my game again to have them active as I can't seem to see them anywhere or any changes to state I have these contents.

I doubt you have to restart. Are you still in the opening area? They may not be available until you get to the bigger cities rather than the small villages.

So how does it run on the ps4? Has the patch sorted out the frame rate issues?

Might be a dumb question, but how do I redeem codes (expansion pack) for this game on PS4? I haven't seen any options in the start menus to do so like other games...

How many of you have played Witcher 2?

soooo.......are those a couple of ravens hanging out with Geralt on the title screen?? :woot:

So yeah.. I can't find where to get my DLC stuff either. Sadface.

Never mind.. The vendor you save at the beginning has them. And they're 400 gold each.

Yes there are no issues with the combat, especially coming from Witcher 2. Any complaints are false complaints in an effort to "stand out" from the onslaught of postive press the game has been getting.

I gotta say, man, it's like they were playing a different game or something. I'd read complaints about how fans of Witcher 2's combat will be angry because it's too easy, etc. I'm surprised that none of them tried to just up the difficulty, in an age where everyone who plays videogames KNOWS to bump up the difficulty on Halo games, Call of Duty games, Gears of War games, etc. There's a precedence for Normal being the new Easy for rookie players to any given series.

It has me thinking some of the reviewers that complained about how easy and boring the combat was, now seem disingenuous somehow.

So....it turns out the vendor is dead in my game...he was killed by a drowner attack. Anyone know if the dlc armor is locked to him, or if it's available at other vendors?

Wow. That's kinda ****ed up. But, also kinda awesome.

Yeah it sucks. Here's hoping it'll turn up at another vendor.
