I would too, but I doubt its gonna happen. CDPR has pretty much said it won't.

Im still holding out slight hope that they'll be able to get our 360 save files over to the X1 so we can have our choices carry over.

A CD Red producer basically told indy developers to make a Sony port make it look great, don't tell them about it, and bring it to them and they would release it.

I think they are just focused on this game and then the Cyber Punk game next. They aren't a big enough studio to do those ports or remasters yet I imagine.

I believe, if I remember correctly, that it almost happened...but that some technicalities on licensing issues led to it being cancelled. Atleast, that is the first Witcher game.

Rise of the White Wolf was supposedly to going to be an updated version of the first game for consoles.

Rise of the White Wolf was cancelled because things weren't going well and I don't even think CDPR were working on it. It was going to be a poor port, and they decided all it was going to do was hurt their rep. It was a good call imo. This is why they built The Witcher 2, with the consoles a bit more in mind.

Yeah, CDPR wasn't even working on it. It was being outsourced.

Could have sworn I read something about some licensing or distribution rights that were associated with the first game that played a part. But, I don't even think Rise of the White Wolf was ever officially announced, either.

"New" 35min gameplay footage:

No other game has a chance. And some Ciri in game. :awesome:

I assume it's tied into the subtitles option. I just noticed, in The Witcher 2, there's sometimes subtitles over Geralt during combat.

And man...I watched those 37 mins of gameplay. ****ing amazing. It looks fluid, it looks beautiful, the combat looks even more fun with more oomph in the signs too. The small details, like the facial expressions during conversations (Geralt makes a slight face once 'Gran' takes him to meet the 'Ladies'). I'd wager the difficulty was set to easy, too.

It's always a good sign when a developer is that comfortable to show that amount of gameplay.

And...Ciri!!!!

For open world single player I prefer they lock a minimum 30 FPS and instead try to max the resolution. Bit of a shame if they can't get to 1080p.

Yeah, hopefully they can make it to 1080p. I'm sure regardless of it, it'll still look superb. The frames per second isn't so much a big deal to me, as long as it runs smooth. Ultimately as long as it can run smooth, I don't think most people will care.

Witcher movie in the works.

Tomasz Baginski, an Oscar-nominated director who directed the intros for The Witcher and The Witcher 2 games, has confirmed he's working on a Witcher film.

I think The Witcher would be great onscreen. I think a tv series, on HBO or another cable channel, would make more sense with the format of the first (and second) short story collections. But, either way...I'm down for some live action Witcher. Especially considering that those intro movies were very well done, as well.

Casting should be interesting, since Geralt has adopted a Rivian accent...which sounds American.

Glad the guy who did those 2 intros will be involved. They were both amazing! And I hope The Witcher 3's intro is of similar quality.

so, have they said if Witcher 3 will be accessible to newbies to the series who have never played a Witcher game before?

I think so. I think they tied up quite a few things in Assassins of Kings, with the most important thing leading into 3 being the Nilfgaard and the raging war in the Northern Kingdoms that we see unfolding in Wild Hunt.

But, I highly recommend playing them. Witcher 2 is a fantastic game. I'm replaying 2, and will probably take a crack at the first one on my laptop. The first game game pretty much can run on anything these days.

Also, with characters like Yennefer, Ciri, and Emhyr (the Emperor of Nilfgaard)...seems like reading some of the novels would help give insight, too. Because, those are some MAJOR characters making their game debuts.

I'm sure they'll explain thing along the way, though.

Yea pretty much. 2 was like that. There won't be any major plot points carried over in this game from say the 2nd, just characters and certain events. But there really is no excuse to skip out on 2. Its on the 360 and PC and can be found for pretty cheap and on top of that its an incredible game.
