Iv already got this preinstalled on my X1, but I think ima buy the collectors edition as well(assuming i can get my hands on it). I want all that stuff. I'll just sell the game or trade it in or something. I mean i'll be sitting on 3 damn copies of the game.(one iv purchased from Xbox, one im getting for free and then the CE version)

You have too much free money on your hands. :p

I'm gonna get it digitally like everything else. Much time will be put in it.

Haha free my ass. I just don't currently have that many expenses. I was going to get a bike, but im literally one bad day away from either being fired, or telling my boss to f**k off and storming out the door. So i figure ill wait until I get a job i plan on keeping before i drop that kind of money. In the meantime tho, it means iv got money to blow on things like Witcher collectors editions.

But yea, iv got mine downloaded so if i can sang the CE, it'll just be for the physical stuff.

I just started playing through Assassins of Kings one final time before Wild Hunt drops. So damn ready.

Looks like I just bought this game. I ordered a new video card and it came with the game for free

Nice, the game looks beautiful too so that video card will come in handy:cwink:

The textures on the armors and colors look stunning so will be a game we will enjoy looking at at least plus I cant wait to try out this card game they have created.

Holy crap, you better stay far away from all the Warsaw press event coverage that's released today if you know what's good for you.

SPOILERS. SPOILERS everywhere.

Depends on what you consider a spoiler I guess.
If you're okay with entire side quests or parts of the main quest being shown off, then go for it.

Thought about pre-downloading this game, but ended up ordering a physical copy because it comes with soundtrack, map and stickers. I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff.

Now I just need to find the time to play through Witcher 2.

Yea thats why i want that CE, for all that physical stuff, i just don't want the actual game(as iv already got it downloaded)

I don't think I'm gonna finish out Witcher 2. I just took too much time between play sessions and have fallen out of it. Debating whether I wanna get Witcher 3 day 1 or finish out some of my backlog. I'm definitely getting Project CARS in a couple weeks so that's another reason to hold off. Witcher3 will only be $36 for me on cdkeys though so it's not like I'm paying full price to play it early anyway... decisions, decisions.

The three videos made by Gamespot are fantastic. Also points out the ridiculousness of how other studios handle DLC. It cost them peanuts.

Yeah. I really appreciated the honesty from him, and CDPR. It's one of the reasons I really want to support them. I've got the CE pre-ordered, I'll be getting the Expansion Pass (love the change to name on that), too. There's a very sensible, pro-consumer approach to how CDPR does things that's just extremely refreshing in this industry that I just want to throw my money at them so that they're rewarding for it. Ontop of me already liking their games, too.

I think the Witcher 2 and 3 are examples of how physical media can still be extremely tempting and still worth it. I mean, even the standard edition would count as a collector's edition or deluxe edition for any other game. They really pack their releases with incentives.

To be fair, they did a good job of tying up alot of loose ends in The Witcher 2. It kinda wound up being a self contained story, in a lot of ways, with only a few seeds planted for 3.

I take them at their word that you don't need to have played any of the previous games to understand the story in 3.

I think with characters like Ciri, Yennefer, Dijkstra, and Emperor Emhyr that will be making their videogame debuts, maybe reading some of the translated novels might help, though.

I'd wait until you can really sit down and immerse yourself in the world. The Witcher isn't something ya just plop down and goof off in, ya really wanna take in the world CD PR has created. I think I'm gonna request off work the two days after this games release. No distractions haha.

If you are debating whether you can play this game without playing the others, don't. It is the perfect jumping on point from all indications.

My only problem with it is the prologue seems to start with Geralt looking for Yennefer when it seems the crux of the game is his search for Siri.

Was Siri even mentioned in the previous games?

Ciri, like Yennefer was mentioned in 2. Also, it makes sense, as finding Yennefer was Geralt's mission at the end of 2. I would assume finding Ciri is presented in this game.

Just seems like an overly busy central plot.
Well at the start of the series, Geralt had just lost his memory. He was with Yennefer, and the first two games was him remembering what happened. At the end of 2 he had it all figured out. This has all been tied to the Wild Hunt, who wanted Ciri going back to the books. So it all connects and makes sense.

Also, don't see how it is overly busy for a game that is suppose to be well over 100 hours.

I keep going back to Witcher 2...haven't beaten it yet...but I don't think I will. It's just so freaking boring...
