And of course people on gaf are complaining that the grass looks "less dense."

Not all.. But the ones complaining are complaining about grass. Is this Halo Reach all over again where gamers complain about GRASS?!

Damn thats one awesome trailer. Not helping with the wait but looks like theres a lot more range and style of armor for Geralt this time out.

^^^Yup.

Looks like something IGN would carelessly piece together, to be honest. Only things missing are explosions, more explosions and brostep instead of the original score.

But yeah, at least we got some more glimpses of the gear Geralt can be equipped with.

Pretty sure there was an explosion, actually. Is this the first Combat trailer we get?

This game does looks pretty good. I never played the first one and couldn't get into the second, but Wild Hunt seems to have much more promise. I didn't realize it came out so soon, I'll probably pick up the GOTY edition one day when it's nice and cheap.

haha wut

Also, there are explosions in that trailer. Or were you watching something else?

Hmmm, I wonder what CDPR's stance is on GOTY editions. I could see them being adverse to those because of they're super pro-consumer/gamer stances on things like DRM and DLC. But, considering how much they pack the regular editions with stuff...I'd love to see what they could come up with for a GOTY edition.

And I think they just recently released the 'Silver' Edition of Witcher 2 on 360. But, granted there wasn't any DLC released post-360 launch since everything they released on the PC was put on the 360's version from the start.

If they don't do a GOTY edition, it will probably be even cheaper -hooray!

Mea culpa, there *is* an explosion. Although nothing near a Michael Bay'esque one, which you usually get "treated" with in montages of games from one of those bigger outlets or even from the developers themselves.

If you don't count the Twitch stream from Tuesday (which sadly isn't available anymore) then yes, this is the first montage purely about Geralt slicing and dicing and chopping people up like a madman.

In other news, the next Clueless Gamer Episode (today?) will feature Wild Hunt, if I remember correctly.
Not really looking forward to that as well. I know it's literally just all fun and games, but with a title like Wild Hunt which is definitely made for a mature audience dealing with all kinds of serious issues (in a fantasy context) it kind of feels wrong to let Conan at it.
But that's just me, of course.

Geez yeah, better not have any fun with this super serious video game :o

Yeah, probably. The first Expansion pack is supposed to come out in October, the 10-hour DLC. And then the second Expansion pack, the 20-hour DLC, is set for 2016 with no actual month yet known. I guess we'll know for sure by then, and maybe keep on the look out with what CDPR might say. They're really honest with this stuff, so I can see them giving people a heads up on there being a GOTY edition in the works before most other developers do.

Lol, yeah heaven forbid the combat actually be fun and exciting in this :o

Seriously though I think we have seen enough footage to know this hasnt turned into Call of Duty:Witcher. Its not like there wasnt bomb making and explosions in prior Witchers.

Yeah, I read some comments over at the CDPR forums that seemed like a lot people were rubbed the wrong way by the trailer. I think one guy was upset about watching "violence without the context of story". Which is weird to me, because he must freak out over any trailer for anything (movie, tv show, game) showing violence without setting up an entire scene. I can understand where some of the people who didn't like the trailer are coming from, but some of the comments I'm seeing from them over at the CDPR forums seems sort of pretentious. I prefer the hardcore RPG stuff, personally, and I know I'm getting that. But, I'm also aware that marketing to gamers who enjoy action is just good business.

It's not like the mistake that Ubisoft made early on with Splinter Cell Blacklist, either, where we got the action packed trailer first and wound up creating a paranoia with hardcore Splinter Cell fans that eventually cooled down once they released the Stealth trailer. CDPR has shown us plenty of the things we want, ie: talent trees, conversations, decision making, story scenes, etc. Getting a trailer where Geralt is being a badass in combat after they've established the things the hardcore base wants is a good thing.

Agreed, its only a two minute trailer that focuses on the combat. It got me pumped to play it anyway. I'm sure the full games focus is on the RPG elements and story anyway, can understand the panic when some games do change and become something very different to ones before it, there are cases of that happening (Dragon Age) but I dont for a second think this is one of them.

The combat just looks like a small part of what overall will be an awesome experience hopefully all round. There will be plenty of deep RPG elements as we have already seen.

To be honest, I was a tad disappointed. My concern right now is story, so I am hoping that wasn't the launch trailer and we still have one to go.

It's not the launch trailer, for sure. If it were, then I'd think it was a mistake. But, it's definitely not a launch trailer.

I haven't paid much attention to any of the recent trailers or footage. No point. Iv already bought the game and have it downloaded and ready to go. All that's left, is the wait.

Ps4 gameplay

30 different endings?! Now that's the sort of replay value I can get behind! I've already got this preordered and can not wait to dive into this world! I also bought one of the books "The Last Wish", on my Kindle. Hoping to read it sometime soon.

i'm not trying to pounce on your hopes, but bioware did say there'd be 16 different ME endings before Me3 released. not saying it'll be the same scenario here though. just some food for thought, you kno.

Those 30 (I think I saw one of the lead writers mention 36+) actually refer to ending states, not endings in the traditional (red, green and blue) sense.

For Wild Hunt it's similar but also different, in that you can finish with one main conclusion (of 3, if that lead writer I mentioned earlier is to believed) which on top of that also compiles a bunch of different end states (= results of some of the more important side quests I guess) you're leaving the world in.

If that 36+ number is right, then it's basically 3 major * 12+ minor endings you can conclude the game with.
