The Wrestling Figure Thread

Thanks guys. I figure it was something like that. Its too bad because despite what people say about his legacy, he was still a very popular superstar in the 80's and early 90's.

Maybe this is why he can't get into the Hall of Fame either.

He was very popular and is definitely HOF worthy but with the grudge he and Vince have toward one another it may never happen. I'd love for a Macho Man Classics figure (I'd like several actually) and I'd love for a Macho Man DVD. It sucks.

I know this really doesn't have to do with the action figures, but is anyone really getting tired of Cena still being world champ?

I kind of like the idea that WWE is going for a long-tern champion instead of the constant turning over of the belt from one superstar to the next that has plagued this company for the last 5 years or so. Its brought some more value back to the championship.

But does it have to be Cena that keeps it forever. I'm just not that impressed by his wrestling skills. And his charisma on the mike just isn't there.
I know some people like him, but its almost like a turn to heel could really do a lot for his career. He already gets a lot of boos along with cheers, so maybe as a heel he could be more interesting.

Yes. I'm so tired of him as champ I was pulling for Orton to win at SummerSlam. Its just gotten old having him as champ and he just overcomes every opponents best and pulls through. It just doesn't work. Maybe if he wasn't this goody two-shoes version of Cena and was his old self were he was more towards the heel-side. His mic skills lack because its like he's forcing the humor thats been written. If he were still doing his verses and disses it'd be better. A full blown heel turn just wouldn't fly, atleast not right now. I think he'd have to ease into it. Not only that but he needs to drop the strap and chase it, thats when he can be alot moer interesting. Especially if a mega heel like King Booker, Kennedy or Orton would become champ. Now think of this. What if King Booker were to win the strap and then surround himself with "The King's Court" and has a stable with 2-3 guys that are always helping him and standing between Cena recapturing the title from Booker. OR how about when its revealed that Kennedy is McMahon's son and a new "Corporation" is made and they have Kennedy as the top gun and have some goons and such and have Cena chase the title from him having to go through them all?? Yeah, similar to what Austin had to do back in the Attitude era but I personally think if done right it would help Cena lose his "stale-ness" by chasing the belt from a mega-heel. Always having the belt and always winning ala Hulkamania just doesn't fly with him because he doesn't come off as "larger than life" like Hogan was. The formula doesn't work for him, and there's not many that it'd work for in today's WWE. He needs to drop the title, but I'm just thankful he didn't to Lashley at the GAB. I absolutely detest Lashley. Yeah, he's athletic and can do some moves not many can but he's just garbage personailty-wise. I can't get behind someone that lame unless he gets a manager and he's like some sort of wrestling machine robot. Thats about the only way Lashley can be anything because as a squeeky clean face he bites because his charisma stinks and he's just lame on the mic.

Very good points.

I've been a wrestling fan since the 80's and I have to tell ya, the last 5 years haven't been too great.
WWE was pretty predictable in the past, but its become even more so now. It just seems like its totally ran out of ideas. Very stale and stagnant.

I think its mainly because they really don't have a lot of mega-superstars anymore.

The only ones I would count for that are Triple H and........come to think of it, I think he's it.
Shawn Michaels is on vacation and Ric Flair is on fumes. Other than that, there doesn't seem to be any more of those larger-than-life personalities.

WWE is trying. I see that when they make pushes for Orton, Lashley, Batista, Cena, Carlito, and now Kennedy, but for some strange reason they can't seem to mold a new Macho Man, a new Hogan, a new Andre the Giant, a new Austin, a new Bret Hart, a new Rock.

Guys who single-handily can knock a roof off its hinges by just showing up at an arena.

I kind of miss Kurt Angle though. I think he has that ability.

BTW, did you just see the report of the 10 superstars being suspended by WWE.
It was just on ESPN. They won't name names, but some Internet searching has brought up some interesting names as possibles.

Orton and Mr. Kennedy being on that list. If thats true, then there are some major storylines that are going to need to be revised in the coming weeks.

I just saw it in the new Rasslin' thread (The Squared Circle). This completely sucks.

When it comes to wrestling, I rarely place blame or dislike directly on the wrestler. Yea, I don't like Orton. He's a pompous prick and many pro wrestlers I've talked to (one is currently in WWE's development system) have said the same. But he's not putting himself in the main events, the WWE is. Cena is putting himself into the main events, WWE is.

I would like for someone else to be champ and getting the same amount of time, just for the sake of change, but so far cena has not been indicated in any drug scandals (orton has), he's been relatively injury free (luckily!), and I think he's at least semi-entertaining. He will never have a benoit/angle classic, or an RVD/Sabu extreme highflying bloodletting brawl, but every now and then he'll surprise you. I still haven't seen all of it, but i heard his TLC match with Edge was really good.

It was really good. And his match with Randy this past Sunday was good also. I liked it. Alot of false finishes and reverses I hadn't seen people do to their moves. And I don't blame Cena directly, when I say stuff like that its not because I hate the guy as if its his fault. I think he's a good dude, and the kid's love him so thats pretty cool in my book because as a kid there were certain guys I liked because they were good guys/faces. Basically I'm wanting creative to do something that'll spice things up, which all starts with Cena dropping the strap to somebody. His constant booking of being Super Cena is just old now. If I was a kid I wouldn't care, but as a more learned wrestling fan I want some change to liven things up.

Well, he's basically Hogan for today.

People were saying the same about the Rock. Give him time, they'll find something for him. I just wish he'd get a better finisher.

Of course. Which is cool to some degree. I know its about money, I'm just asking for some change. Like when Edge had the title for awhile. Thats sorta change. He could have the belt for the majority of two years aslong as there's a few times he drops it and fights back to get it. Just this long drawn out haul of consecutive wins and retaining gets boring. Did you see HBK/Cena from WM23?? That was pretty damn good, HBK did his thing as usual.

Well, the only other person who should be holding the strap should be Kennedy. I'd also really like to see Cena and HHH put him over big time. At least HHH, who could really push Kennedy into stardom with a convincing victory.

But the WWE needs to be making more stars. Especially if they're suspending 10 wrestlers or more. Hopefully they get the orton treatment of being suspended, but still being on TV, and then getting a main event/world title push.

HHH push Kennedy?? Oh man, you sure are asking alot. If, and thats a big IF, big daddy Trips did in fact push Kennedy then yeah, it would be great for him.

It doesn't look that way. If anything Orton will be one of the longer suspensions because it'll be his second Wellness violation. Thats 60 days not paid.

And what's orton's punishment?

Main event at the next PPV.

Nope. Main event at the next PPV AND winning the title from Cena. ;)

Hell yeah. And he'll kick JR in the face and have another notch on his Legend Killer belt.

I have 2 of those RVDs, one MOC and one loose/displayed. He's a great fig but even cooler that he comes with the painted belts and the ECW shirt.

I luckily found Kelly Kelly and Ariel for about the same at TRU about 2 weeks ago. But thanks for the heads up.

Wtf is up with the wal mart next to my house   ,they have a test figure from 1999 in a deluxe aggresion tommy dreamer package,And a Lita from the 2000 wwf heat series of figures in a Ecw Kelly Kelly package,WTF?

My guess is some jackass bought the original figures and threw in some random unwanted fig in the package and returned it to get his money back and essentially get those figs for free. Its a damn shame.

but the packages are not ripped or anything like that and the only one i cant find thats not a old figure in a new package is a cade and murdoch 2 pack and a Wwe Legends 3 pack with Sabu,Terry Funk and O wait the Cactus Jack has been replaced with a 2000 Smackdown titan tron series stone cold steve austin

Its not very hard to open the packages and re-seal them so believe me, somebody is very good and is a sneaky f*** and is buying figs and replacing them with crap and returning them.

lmao, wouldn't the workers be smart enough to know the figure in the box is nothing like the Picture of the Wrestler/diva lol

We're talking about Wal-Mart employees bro. Think about it.

I returned a die-cast car that I thought was in scale to joes but was to small to walmart. I cracked the rear window of it trying to fit a GI Joe inside. It was a very obvious crack. I returned it, said I got the wrong one, the clerk looked at it, and put it right into the cart to be reshelved.
