He was doing nothing just a couple of weeks ago. Cody deserves TV time too and he and Cesaro might do some good work together. Cody Runnels is without question the single most underappreciated performer on the entire roster.

He's been criminally underrated since he was Dashing Cody Rhodes. Who makes that gimmick work? I wish he was in the upper midcard like Orton.

He grew a freaking moustache and people started chanting "Cody's moustache" and bringing signs to the arenas. He never half-asses anything and always puts so much effort into his characters. He created the character that made people care about Wade Barrett. Yet, the office never puts much stock in him and working with him is seen as a bad thing despite him always putting in good work.

I personally loved Cody Von Doom, to be honest I like Stardust too. Who better for a super villain than the the Swiss Superman?

He outshined the more Vince-friendly Ted Jr. in his early days, he got gimmicks to work that people said wouldn't work, he was a good IC champion, he worked well with Sandow, he poors his heart and soul into Stardust. He's the anti-Del Rio, which means he gets over character after character and gets absolutely nothing.

* SmackDown starts with a promo from Zeb Colter and Alberto Del Rio on MexAmerica.

* WWE United States Champion Alberto Del Rio defeated Neville in a non-title match. Del Rio worked as a good heel here. He beat Neville down after the match until Jack Swagger made the save to a decent pop.

* The Usos defeated The Ascension in under five minutes.

* Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan defeated Sin Cara, Kalisto, Darren Young and Titus O'Neil in a Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match. Darren was eliminated by count out, Cara by Harper, Kalisto by Rowan ad Titus by Wyatt. All four Wyatts survive.

* Ryback defeated King Barrett in a short match. Ryback countered a sleeper hold and hit Shellshocked for the win.

* Natalya defeated Tamina Snuka in another short match.

* WWE Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens defeated Dean Ambrose by DQ after selling a phantom low blow. Ambrose unloads on Owens after the match but Owens retreats through the crowd to big heat. SmackDown ends with Ambrose in the ring.

I don't dislike Del Rio by the way, it's just frustrating that he gets everything and can't make stuff work the way someone like Cody can. How many supposedly destined for failure things has he made gold out of in WWE?

Well, it doesn't help creative kept cutting his legs from underneath him throughout his career. Win the title? Take it off him shortly after. Have a cool entrance? Take it away. Start to get over? Turned back heel.

Man, I hope he holds the title till at least Mania.

Cody has had a variety of gimmicks and made them work. The guy has got each gimmick over. I certainly feel like Cody deserves a shot at the big one at some point.

And he brought back the classic IC title. Honestly I thought Cody would have been a main even player by now. Cody vs any Shield member, Bray, or Ziggler could be show stealing main events. He works well as a face or heel. I like Stardust with Ascension henchmen. The guy can talk, he can wrestle, he has tons of charisma. Back when Punk was champion I wanted Cody to take the belt off him. He could also be the perfect rival for Rollins. Have Rhodes and Rollins wrestled? I see money right there.

And Eden is phenomenal.

Rose is a talented wretsler, and I liked him since his Kraven the Hunter gimmick days. He could be another greta mid card addition going after the IC and US titles. Or as a quality tag team with Fandango. I like Curtis but he needs a gimmick overhaul

Jericho had Cody and Goldust on his podcast a while back. They said how putting Dusty in the polka dots was meant as a rib to Dusty, to make him look silly...but Dusty got over no matter what.

Cody's just like his dad in that way.

Also is Del Rio a heel? He comes out to little to no reaction and the crowd was booing him on Smackdown last week. Del Rio's one of the few to make me say, "Cena, come back."

Del Rio does nothing for me. When he was on LU you can tell he was fired up and he worked a little quicker but the entire roster was still more entertaining. And he uses the "Yes" chant in Spanish. Creative.
He talked a lot of trash about WWE and said how he feels so much better without it. Yet he jumped right back in the first chance he gets. Eh, hypocrite. But most wrestlers are.
