The Wrestling Thread Says, "Wait Just A Second There, Playa!"

I think The Rock should just feud with midcarders from now on after the John Cena feud. This way WWE can get new stars in the main event scene.

Rock vs. Ziggler. Just so Rock can say hurtful things to Vickie that even Lawler would say "dude, that's not cool" to.

Yeah thats a good idea. Someone like Ziggler would benefit greatly from working with The Rock. Bryan would make a good foil for the Rock since he gives Rock a lot of material to work with and is great in the ring.

Heck at some point I wouldn't even mind Sheamus vs The Rock. That might work better with a heel Sheamus though.

Rock would have to say some real devastating things for Lawler to say that.

I am shocked CM Punk, the guy who claims he knows more about music than a lot of people, didn't even say that Green Day, while real punk back in the day have just become the same mainstream jolly crap.

Yeah Steamboats a guy who didn't embarrass himself. He wasn't as good as he used to be but he was still surprisingly better than I expected given his age, injury, and the amount of time he'd been less than active as a full time wrestler.

Plus Ricky never got to go out on his own terms so it was nice that he could come back and have say a proper goodbye to end his career

I got to see him live at a house show and he wrestled Sheamus ( who was yet to debut on television) . That was awesome. I'm glad he got one last hurrah too.

Triple H has had some nasty things to say about Bret :funny: I think thats why Bret was so harsh on him. Plus we got Triple H on camera lying to Bret's wife, then claiming he wouldn't have been stupid enough to let the screwjob happen to him if the roles were reversed, and finally his infamous "F*** [Bret]! If he won't do business we'll do business for him!" quote.

That was kind of a funny dig because it's absurd. Triple H seems to have tremendous respect for Owen though. Mainly because Owen put him over without issue so hopefully that goes into consideration.

If he does that he pretty much HAS to use that heel momentum to put Punk over big at a Wrestlemania wouldn't he? No pussyfooting around it then. what good is a story with a mega villain without a great hero winning in the end?

As far as the general audience...some would probably be very entertained but ending the streak isn't going to make Triple the guy that makes WWE super popular again. The excitement from that would fade pretty quick just like most other big stories in WWE.

I'm thinking even if Triple H loses ( which seems like a forgone conclusion) that's reason enough to turn heel. He can blame the pressures on Shawn and the audience.
At that point Jericho can move to Smackdown and have some good feuds while Punk takes on Triple H. Meanwhile Cena deals with Ace's heel faction.

I'm not a punk rock aficionado but Punk seems to disagree. saying they stuck to their roots.

I liked Offspring's first couple albums but I would say they 'sold out'

ok I marked BIG TIME when I saw saw this.

I think rock will have more of a taker occasional appearance type of role. Kinda like Taker. Doing WM's maybe summerslams. So, I think vince/triple h will use him vs another top guy in each of those ppv's to sell a dream match type of scenario.

^ He should be used against midcarders to put them to the next level like he did Brock Lesnar in 2002.

Don't know if anyone's seen the vid of Austin roasting Zakk Wylde (can't post it due to the content), but if we get a Punk/Austin feud, the promos between the two should be special. :D

...Though obviously toned down a bit... :cwink:

I really hope Rock returns for occasional matches But I also sure hope the Rock/Cena feud is over after WM,They need to live up to the year long build-up of"once in a lifetime"match and not make the excuse of"oh well it ended by interference DQ and so they'll fight until there's a winner..at next year's WM"!!

IF Brock is returning then I want Brock vs Rock at SS II,Then Rock vs mid-carders at a Raw then Survivor Series and then Orton or Punk at WM!!

This would work great for setting up Summerslam and WM28

If Brock were to attack Rock then it could set up a bout at Summerslam (like many want).

But also, it could set up Brock to have a match at next years Wrestlemania.

If along the way they had him form an alliance of sorts with Punk, they could bring the Austin vs Punk/Austin vs. Brock feuds into play.

TBH, I really don't want Brock to face Taker and/or beat him and having him go up against Austin is a much better option.

BTW, would anyone else love to see Cena vs. Punk at Wrestlemania 29 for the WWE Title? I've heard people say they should save that match until Wrestlemania 30/XXX but I think it would be awesome headliner for any 'Mania.

I'd be for it, though if the opportunity for Punk vs Austin comes along, I wouldn't mind them delaying Punk/Cena for Wrestlemania 30. I wonder if they would consider Punk/Austin for Summerslam?

Wow, do you know where to find that by any chance?

Ask and ye shall receive

Its a little disturbing if you ask me. The Randy Orton fashion sense is all the rage I guess

:funny:

This makes me go....:woot:

Two of my favorite wrestlers talking to each other and with all of Punk's *****ing...there is still hope now.

I really wanna know what they talked about.

Punk: "You know, if it was me out there on the mic against you instead of Cena, you know I would've turned the crowd on you, right?"

^ He should be used against midcarders to put them to the next level like he did Brock Lesnar in 2002.

Definitely. That's why WWE needs to work hard to make new stars.

Rock/Ziggler's definitely a match-up I'd love to see, depending how the Rock comes across this Sunday. If he's like his old self, then the match would be an awesome athletic showcase. :D

Vs. Cena - WM 28

Vs. Helmsley - SummerSlam 2012

Vs. Orton - WM 29

Vs. Lesnar - SummerSlam 2013

Vs. Michaels - WM 30

Throw a match in against Punk at some other PPV and this would be my dream layout for The Rock's scheduled matches.

I wouldn't mind so much if Triple H goes heel mode afterwords. It would be one hell of a backlash. I actually have a friend who think Triple H is the best ever and wants him to end the streak. The internet fans would hate it but I wonder how the general audience might perceive it.

It's kind of funny how similar the two most promoted matches are alike. Cena & Undertaker are fighting to be respected while Helmsley and Maivia are fighting to be the greatest of all-time.

I thought about that also. They are gonna need a big draw for the 25th Anniversary of Summerslam.

I would think Austin would want his return to the ring to be at Mania

Austin is WM or bust. Also what's everyone's most anticipated match this Sunday? For me it's Jericho/Punk.

It has previously been reported that Curt Hawkins was training with The Rock in the ring to help him get prepared for his main event match against John Cena at WrestleMania 28.

In an interview with The Miami Herald, The Rock revealed the other WWE talent who has been in the ring with him.

"I love Curt [Hawkins]. Curt’s been great. Joe Hennig [Michael McGillicutty] has been great, too. I’ve had a training camp for over a year now, and those guys have been tremendous."

Can you believe it? McGillicutty's been helping the Rock get in shape. I hope he taught the guy some mic skills in exchange. :hehe:

Yeah, if Austin returns to the ring, it'll be at Mania, I feel sure of that.

It would be nice if Rock mentored them. Can't see them getting cut now that they helped Rock.

I think the 3 main events (the two you mentioned plus Jericho/Punk) all have that in common.

Punk/Jericho echoes Cena/Rock so much I can't believe they're not being more intentional about it.

And how much is WM? I'm thinking of buying it so I can add to the running commentary in here (y'all are the only bros I got when it comes to wrestling discussion).
