– There are rumors of New Japan Pro Wrestling star and former ROH Tag Team Champion Rocky Romero also leaving the company. This comes after the rumors of AJ Styles, Doc Gallows, Karl Anderson and Shinsuke Nakamura reportedly leaving for WWE.

Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live today that apparently Romero was being discussed for a trainer role in WWE. No word yet if there’s any truth to the rumors of him leaving NJPW for WWE.

We do know that Romero was in attendance for one of the recent WWE NXT TV tapings from Full Sail University. We’ll keep you updated on his status and the reports of Styles, Gallows, Anderson and Nakamura coming to WWE

Reigns can't possibly win the Rumble because it breaks from tradition of the winner facing the champ at Wrestlemania.

Yes they can still change that, like they did with Austin and Bryan, but I think it would be better if Reigns lost but fought to earn a shot at the next PPV. Although, they risk predictability again if he loses, Brock wins, and then he beats Triple H at the next PPV to fight Brock at Mania and wins.

I wouldn't be surprised if WWE had big plans for them that required a certain level of secrecy so they don't want to comment on this because it lessens the impact if they're expected to show up.

The four of them signing no doubt overshadows the return of Jericho.

I don't know what name they are going to give Karl Anderson, but I would not be surprised if Nakamura was Nakamura in WWE, AJ Styles was AJ Styles and Doc Gallows went back to being Luke Gallows.

That makes zero sense to me the winner of Rumble this year is the champion. No possible challenger is penciled in. Reigns could win, Reigns could lose and get a rematch at Mania, or he could lose and get screwed out of a rematch by Triple H and face him. WWE already decided to shake WrestleMania season up this year.

Based on what Reigns has to do at the Rumble plus the (possible but likely) signings of Styles, Nakamura, Gallows and Anderson, I got a message for the WWE:

If Rocky Romero does go to the WWE, I would not be surprised if his WWE name is John (or Johnny) Romero as it would be an amalgam of his real name (John R. Rivera) and the name of his most famous wrestling identity.

From my understanding, the last time this happened was 92 where Flair won. The background there was that it was supposed to set up Hogan/Flair (which never happened) but they were basically trying to give the fans what they wanted, however they could.

I feel like that's not the case now. Yes, they're shaking things up, which is a huge positive. But I can't help but call shenanigans and judging off their predictability, certain things will be telegraphed. I feel like the odds are so stacked against him that he's expected to overcome and win, and because of that, they're going to do something to prevent him from doing so.

I'm just trying to picture in my head where they might go from here and all signs point to Brock vs Reigns II, with a slight possibility that Cena somehow gets the title and Reigns goes over on him. Those are the only big money main events I can picture at Mania.

Are there still plans for Cena vs. Taker? That would interest me.

Two of these guys are awesome, the other two....not so much:

Id prefer he didn't because I really like Roppongi Vice and its not like Beretta is going to be welcome back in the WWE

The WWE is interested in bringing him in as a trainer for NXT to replace Billy Gunn

They are signed. If not all of them are signed yet, why would WWE.COM have an article on it and have a tweet about it and a Facebook post about it?

The WWE would have said nothing at all of some of them or all of them were in negotiations. It's just like all of the recent Marvel Studios rumors (Ryan Coogler, Cate Blanchett etc.). Marvel has yet to confirm either Coogler or Blanchett and until they do it's speculative. Hell, they haven't even confirmed Marisa Tomei as Aunt May.

The WWE doesn't usually post "in negotiations" articles. In fact they would post nothing at all. We heard in 2014 about the rumors of Sting in WWE, but the WWE said nothing about it until he made his actual WWE debut. Hell they said nothing about the rumors of Samoa Joe in WWE until he actually debuted. And there were those rumors of Del Rio returning. The WWE said nothing until he returned. And last we had heard, the WWE had zero interest in the Dudley Boyz, but they came back anyways.

To me that article represents the whole "where's there's smoke there's fire" scenario. Why would the WWE post an article like that if they were not signed?

It's unusual for the WWE to have an article like that if the four weren't on their way.

I feel like this is a unique case because it's about 4 guys, some of whom went to social media and laid out some bread crumbs that got fans talking. WWE is clearly trying to do damage control because that may have interfered with their plans for an surprise introduction.

It's 2016. If they thought they'd keep something like that hidden then they're all kidding themselves.

I know this is the "reality" era, but just think about how big a surprise like this could be?

Even without the internet, there were fans in the 90s who knew when certain guys were wrestling their last match in a company, so you can't really stop that now, but (like someone mentioned earlier) I see why WWE would handle this like Marvel would.

They could have released a statement to someone like Sam Roberts (who the WWE apparently likes) and say "we will not comment on any of the rumored signings at this time." This is unusual for WWE.

I'm with you 100 percent. If Styles showed up without knowledge it would be amazing. I'm guessing they still could. I'm sure a lot of people think they will no right to NXT, but a jump to the main roster would shock most.
