Great start for TNA Impact on POP with the right man winning the World title, a new debut, and a rebirth of the tag team division.

it was enjoyable, but the first show on DA was good

nice to see The Beautiful People back together, and Madison Rayne has gotten good

So Finn Balor posted a photo of himself wearing a Bullet Club shirt, looking at his watch, outside the Performance Center, with the caption "They should be here by now".

I head the POP channel was down for a lot of America, is there truth to this?

It's legally possible, but WWE would have to work out some type of agreement with TNA.

WWE: Of course, we'd like to acquire the rights to AJ Styles's theme music. Perhaps we should meet for negotiations: come down to the PC in Orlando at around noon. We would be happy to provide lunch ...

TNA: Sold! We'll take it! We'll send over the legal transfer documents within the hour!

WWE: ... uh, yes, of course. That was our offer. So, you like Chipotle?

When did Batista join the Ascension?

I know it isn't legally possible but I want AJ Styles to come out to this:

This one instead. :)

Edit: Mike Johnson's a *****e.

-Glad to see James Storm back in TNA. Beer Money is awesome
-Mike Bennett and Maria were treated like a big deal. Bennett is okay I guess. Won't have Taven and Cole to carry him anymore though.
-Way too much talking, not enough wrestling on TNA's Pop debut
-Sad as sad can be about WWE raiding NJPW. No way they let Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles shine like they were shining in NJPW. I can't imagine Nakamura's strong style going over well in WWE.

how is that "raiding"?

it was known that AJ was wrapping up with NJPW this year and his future was uncertain

Well.. Not sure if it was them raiding NJPW.. From everything I've read.. They don't pay for ****. Ontop of the Yen being terrible.

Plus the AJ is leaving thing was pretty well known. No one knew when tho.

raiding would be if Okata, Shibata, Nakamura, and lets say Kenny Omega all jumped to WWE

WWE signed the former Face of TNA. Just think about that for a minute...

So " IWC Members" can't be actual WWE fans? The individuals who are classified as IWC are no better or worse than the casual WWE only fan. I've watched WWE for years, don't single people like me out because we'll actually stop watching for a bit if I don't like it, or actually dare to discuss negative things at times. You would be generalised as an IWC fan too quite frankly.

A majority of IWC fans are too negative these days and it helps ruin the product. It also doesn't help a chunk of them are complete self-marks trying to get themselves over at the expense of the talent.

Casual fans don't give a sh** about the workrate or the backstage politics. Vince Russo 101.

Styles, Nakamura, Anderson, Gallows, and possibly Tonga and Rocky Romero is a raid. That's six of the top ~20 or so guys in the company and 2 of the top 4 (Styles and Nakamura).

Note that I'm not saying WWE is bad or wrong for doing it. Just that it's going to decrease my enjoyment of pro wrestling because I don't believe those guys will be as entertaining in WWE as they have been elsewhere.

well its not a raid if these mens deals are up and they are electing to take a better offer

They will have to appeal to fans of all ages. From 6 to 60. Bellee Dat!

Vince Russo said:
I worked with AJ for probably a decade. Being on both sides of that fence, I don’t see AJ Styles as WWE material. AJ is one of the most class acts through and through that I know. He’s a good, good man, a great father, a stand up guy. I was on the other side of that fence. I was in WWE when it was political warfare.

I think it’s going to be tough for someone like AJ to exist in that environment. Especially when he’s never been put in an environment like that before. We handled him with kid gloves in TNA from day one. He was the TNA guy. He was always treated that way. He’s going into a different environment. He may be the greatest wrestler on the planet, but I don’t know if he’ll have the makeup for that environment. I’m talking strictly personality. Nothing to do with size, capabilities, just as a human being in that type of atmosphere

Russo also did a shoot interview with AJ in 2014:

I saw a lot of angry rants on the wrestling forums about the WWE raiding 'Indie' talent and trying to kill off the Indy scene like they did with the territories in the eighties by buying up all the top talent :whatever:

They did though. I don't see what the eye roll is for. Nobody denies that WWE eviscerated the territory system.

all the teeth gnashing and hand wringing

if that was the case they would have grabbed Mike Bennett, ReDragon, and a couple others

the territory system was already on life support, the AWA had declared bankruptcy, Lawler had walked away from Memphis, there wasn't much of a territory system and those superstars opted to accept a better offer

I think some people feel it's a little different now. Back then, Vince did this to hurt competition. Now, there isn't any competition and you have Triple H (I'm assuming) pushing to sign these talents because he's an actual fan of wrestling, unlike, and again, I'm only assuming, Vince McMahon.
