Sci-Fi The X-Files - 6 Part Event Series

Got to see the first episode. It was classic xfiles with a modern twist. Just seeing this happening is a treat really.

Fans will not be disapointed. Its obvious why the fans that got to see it a few months ago were all giddy. It means a lot more to the fans that have been through the journey.

I still need to do another run of the series before the new season, but I won't have time. I'll probably just watch a few classics a week while I watch the current run.

Who wrote the episode you saw?

I want to say, "It's Fox, what do you expect?" but it is unfortunately a still very common occurence in the industry according to literally everyone.

The reviews for the first 3 episodes are out and they are scathing....:(

Really? Because many that I've seen are first episode = meh, following two = classic X-Files.

Yeah, from the reviews I've seen, the 1st episode is a let down, but the two that follow are strong. At the very least, the Darin Morgan episode sounds like it delivers as everyone hoped it would.

Its a chris carter episode. If you are a fan of the files you will not be dissapointed. If you are some "professional tv reviewer" then you can always find things to nitpick like with any show. The episode and the return of the show is an event in my eyes.

Ive only seen the first episode and its full of mythology and mulder/scully today. It sets up a new age for xfiles using the issues of today but maintaining the tone of the show. Definitely good for new and old fans.

Why did they think it was a good idea to put this after a goddamn football game?

I dunno, but I've literally been prepping and hyping for this moment for months (watching it all for the first time), so imagine my dismay when I flip to Fox and it's not even on, lol.

Hoping some of that football viewership rubs off on the premiere.

Either way, a few minutes now.

Yeah, the half hour late start was bull.

Still, can't help but smile and whistle to the classic opening.

i haven't been keeping up with much but[BLACKOUT] are they hinting at skully and mulder were once married[/BLACKOUT]?

At the very least [blackout]they lived together.[/blackout]

Don't care what the reviews said. I'm enjoying this.

I'm enjoying it too, but there is something a bit off about it. Almost like they're breezing right through stuff that would've felt a little better with some more room to breathe.

Yep. Not sure how I feel about this new premise, either. I mean granted, having binged the whole series so fast, a lot of the mythology eps have kind of blurred together in my mind, but I can't fathom that Mulder's belief in this new direction jives with everything he's seen over the years.

I enjoyed it. It was a bit clunky, but what do you expect with the long gap. It was going to be a bit clunky to set it back up. Still, looking forward to seeing how it plays out. Mulder and Scully together again is just great.

Feels like they haven't left at all. It felt more like a season premiere.

It brings back memories to see the " I made this" production logo

Jesus f***ing Christ, CSM.
