Sci-Fi The X-Files - 6 Part Event Series

Regarding the promo: Was [blackout]that kid supposed to be Gibson[/blackout]?

Feels like they haven't left at all. It felt more like a season premiere.

It brings back memories to see the " I made this" production logo
It really did, especially after binge watching the series and 2 movies for weeks.

I enjoyed it. It was a bit clunky, but what do you expect with the long gap. It was going to be a bit clunky to set it back up. Still, looking forward to seeing how it plays out. Mulder and Scully together again is just great.
I agree with all of this. I really hope we get at least a semi-regular series from them.

Also, anyone else notice the different font? That's my only nitpick.

It definitely should've been longer and maybe do a better job of introducing newbies to it. But I enjoyed it for the most part.

Don't care what the reviews said. I'm enjoying this.

same here... felt like the old days again...

Is two episode enough for alien mythology stuff. I not familar with The X-files but one more episode to resolve is enough?

No, I won't be expecting too much closure on that. They love their questions and they want Fox to order more, so...yeah.

So what is this I am hearing that they are going to be airing episodes out of order?

Depending on just how standalone the standalones are, we might not even notice. But I can't fathom why they'd do that. Like, to any show ever.

What happened with the invasion? Did it not go off in 2012?

if this is the worst the new series has to offer then we're in for a good time.

Am I the only one who shook his head when Moulder and Skully were arguing back and forth about the truth is out there? Probably the worst acting I've ever seen in the series. It really looked like an out take! With that being said, I actually enjoyed the first episode and have no idea why critics have hated it. It's like it never left, unlike Heroes Reborn. What a bunch of crap!

I consider the mytholgy to be heart of X-files.I am not surprised reviewers praise the stand alone episodes better since the same thing went on during
the run of original show.

Episode 1 was classic X-files.it was best myth episode since season 6's
two father's/One son two parter.

It basiclly is updated version of gethsmene/redux/redux II-Mulder
comes to believe the conspiracy is plot by men using technolgy and ailen dna recovered at Roswell and he was decevied into thinking it was ailen conspiracy or conspiracy with ailens

It brings X-files into 2016 but it's still very much X-files.I don't agree with reviews of episode 1 at all.

it will be intresting in final part of miniseries
how will they attempt to explain explanation how CSM survived

I wish I had the time to do a marathon because my memory is so foggy on the mythology. Having said, it was still super nice to see the gang back. Goddamn CSM!

I've always liked the actress playing Sveta and I thought she did a good job. I'm guessing even McHale is just a one episode thing?

Apparently the change in font is because they lost the font originally used; it wasn't change for the sake of it.

There had been rumblings fox already had talks with carter,Duchovney, and Anderson for
10-to 12 episodes for next year if ratings are good.

The opening installment of Fox’s six-hour X-Files revival drew an impressive 13.5 million total viewers on Sunday night during its first half-hour (starting around 10:25 pm), leading out of a well-watched (if lop-sided) NFC Championship game (which delivered north of 40 million viewers).

For comparison’s sake, The X-Files debuted in September 1993 to 12 million total viewers, while its 2002 series finale drew 13.3 million. A year ago, CBS’ Scorpion led out of the Colts/Patriots AFC Championship clash with an audience of 12.3 million (paired with a 3.2 demo rating).

In the demo, The X-Files scored a 5.1 rating in its first half-hour; fuller ratings are still to come later today.

ScreenRant has a pretty good recap article covering most of the major points of the series' history. I found it useful.

As for the episode, I thought it took its time getting into the swing of things but once everyone got into their respective "conspiracy modes" I thought it was great. LOVED Sveta and Joel McHale brought an energy I thought Duchovny and Anderson lacked (maybe out of fatigue or rust from not being the characters in a while?). The end of the episode leaves room for a lot of new exploration and tonight's episode should be a lot more engaging.

For all of my thoughts, you can read my review :)
