Theater Encourages Commenting During Movie

I love the concept. But lose the cellphone part.
I'd love to be able to go to a movie where heckling is encouraged. Especially of the theater is savvy enough to play movies that deserve it. (Dragonball: Evoloution, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-li, Dragon Wars, Resident Evil, etc)
But the cellphone thing is stupid and will not work, especially with the delays.
And if you don't want to go the a movie where people will sit there and heckle it, go to a different theatre.:)
It's a terrible idea. Movies are meant to be watched, not heckled at. If you want to interact during a movie go to a Rocky Horror Picture Show screening.

Yeah because I want to spend 9 euro on a movie ticket to read peoples comments on a film. I do enough of that for FREE here.

Yeah, people tend to forget that MST3K was not ad-libbed. They actually sat through the movies several times to come up with the jokes, and they were professional comedians and comedy writers.

On a related note, Joel Hodgson's Cinematic Titantic live show will be in Atlanta next month.

I really just don't see a problem with this. If you don't like going to a movie where people are going to talk, avoid the theatre. It's as simple as that.
However there are plenty of people who would enjoy the experience.

But, quite simply, most people aren't that good at commentary/heckling. It would basically suck since that's not what people go to the movies for. I can't see why anyone would want to do it. Not very many people can come close to the MST3K/Rifftrax crew, who are all professional comedy writers who spent a decent amount of time crafting their riffs. It's very, very difficult to do off the top of your head.

Because it's fun. Who cares if not everyone is hilarious. Are you trying to tell me that you've never sat down on the couch with a few buddies and riffed a movie? Because it's just like that, but with more current movies.

I have but only sparingly. We didn't riff the movie the whole time. Most of my friends don't like to watch ****** movies. Quite honestly most people would like to avoid ****** movies. It just wouldn't generate any business. For the most part people just like to watch movies. Period.

"wut r u doin 2mrrw?"
"lol nuthin"
"mvie sux"
"idk my bff jill"

:lmao: I laughed so hard at this. Some of the comments in this thread are priceless. I agree that depending on the circumstance it could be a fun experience. I just wonder if it would probably get really loud with too many people shouting or commenting at once

True, the very first KTMA eps were ad-libbed. They're pretty hard to sit through, based on what I've seen. There are long stretches of silence and some of the jokes fall totally flat. The only KTMA eps I've seen are a few of the movies that didn't get redone later, like Hangar 18 and Legend of Dinosaurs. The Gamera episodes were a lot better when they were redone for the Comedy Channel.

Yeah, the ad-libbed episodes were really quite bad. Plus they didn't have Kevin Murphy yet.

& thus my feelings for society have deminished a little more.:csad:
