There You Go: Water powered cars for less than 3 dollars a gallon!

I assume that the big oil companies and car manufacturers are finding ways to either block these guys from marketing or patenting their inventions or buying them out.

I never understood anyone who could go through all that only to sell out. And it's not as if they weren't going to be rich if they didn't sell if to a big company. They just invented something that's going to change the world and put them down in history, but instead opt for instant gratification and take the big cheque.

Cretins.

Assuming americans will drive 245.8 Billion Miles this year based upon this article by USAtoday that means we will now consume an additional 702.3 Million gallons of water based upon a 350 mile/gal conversion and no increase in consumption.

Yeah that wont have an effect on the planet

"Consume?"
No.
Literaly recycle. What doesn't come out as steam will recombine into water if left to itself.

I bet we'd see a difference in the enviroment in less than a decade.

Well, considering that an instant hydrogen conversion plant that burns water releases clean steam back into the atmosphere as it's main by-product, and de-salination processes are increasingly more and more efficient and cost effective, I'd say we're looking at a much more sustainable and renewable energy source than oil (not to mention much easier on the environment).

Meh,.. beat me to it.

On Topic: Large floating vessels desalinate sea water for drinking, bathing and grey water using the excess energy from the engines. How much of a stretch to have a shore based plant generate electricity while using the clean water the process produces to pipe out for peoples use?

We'll never see these hit the market, because the oil companies can't benefit from them.

Nice dream, but big business would rather have us pay $11 a gallon for gas than produce a car which runs on something virtually everyone has access to.

I like totally called ya'll a communist LOL!!!!11

(Where do you get your bandanas? I want one.)

So if all cars emit water vapor, does that mean its gonna rain a lot more?

They already did that to the electric car.......too much of a threat to them. Let me add that it is not only big auto and big oil, but also the insurance companies.

Wouldn't the gas tank freeze in the winter?

What about countries that have very little water to spare?

"Consume?"
No.

I don't dispute that this is still a better alternative than oil. My point is it's not a complete solution, as we are still consuming Hydrogen not all of it will be returned back to the ground and there will still be a loss even if it is relatively small. Not to mention it will take time for the steam to return back to the water cycle. So we are still talking about disrupting another eco system (i.e. lakes rivers, oceans). This could also be particularly devistating in areas already in drought stages.

I'd rather see as jag pointed out a combined effort. This is where we minimize any disruptions to the eco-system by using wind and solar as primary suppliers with hydrogen technology to suppliment. Excess power could then be supplied back to the grid with minimal generation from coal fired/natural gas/nuclear plants.

That said the place where using water as a power source becomes interesting really is space exploration when you consider mars & titan both have it. Any craft headed to these destinations would only need enough fuel to get there.

I don't know anything about this technique but using water to power your car is a rather old technology. You'll find information all over the net about this. The technology is being supressed. Yeah it works but no one wants to back it.

It's quite sad, really.

I've known for a while the technology is available.

I wonder how many people are aware the technology exists? Michael Moore needs to make a documentary about this  Say what you will about Michael Moore, but he is at least able to inform a large amount of people.

Whoa.

Go figure - The test of the Water powered car is doing very well as the world watches,...

And "Suddenly" the price of Gasoline drops over 30 cents.

And it's still falling,.... during the time of year where it rises in America.

LOL

Goddam bat-nerds. :cmad: The movies out! Why is that forum still active!!!!!
