They should make a movie based on COD: Modern Warfare 2!

The story I think is rich enough to lend itself to being adapted for a movie. Seeing a war being fought on American soil (that does not involve aliens) would be a sight to see on the big screen. They'll just need to add more depth to the characters. I'm all for having Roach as the main guy in both movies. If this was made, who would you cast in the main roles?

There's:

Sgt. "Roach" McTavish - Kevin McKidd could do it even though he did the game voice. He's got the physicality and the acting prowess for it.

Captain Price - I got to go with Ralph Fiennes on this one. I think another website suggested him for the role if they ever made a movie.

Ghost - Never really see his face so his character is really up for grabs. Though if they did cast a heavyhitter for the role, I'd go with Christian Bale (mostly because of my fanboyism). Bale can do anything! :woot:

Makarov - Only bit of casting I'm not sure on. I'd prefer it if a Russian actor is in the role, but someone who properly imitates a Russian accent could work as well.

General Shepherd - Liam Neeson. Just because he is Liam Neeson, though he's played similar roles in other movies so it might be refreshing not to have him as another military man.

Ewwwwww! :p (I'm not a big fan of COD, 4 was the last good one...)

I guess it would work.

I don't want a movie. But if anyone should play General Shepherd, it should be Stephen McHattie. The dude looks and sounds like Lance Henriksen.

Either rewrite it as a sequel to The Expendables or get me to make it.

Taskforce 141:

Gerard Butler as Soap:

He's obviously got the voice. But he's also got the physicality that Kevin McKidd lacks and the Steve McQueen rougish charm.

Liam Neeson as Captain Price:

No one, and I mean no one, in Hollywood has the commanding presence of Liam Neeson. He's got the grizzled world weary badass thing down pat and he can play a father figure to Butler's Soap too.

Christian Bale as Ghost:

Christian Bale would love this role. It's got the dirty physicality of 3:10 To Yuma and Rescue Dawn. He'll spend the entirety of his screen time in a ski mask, which is simple, but totally outside the box because he's an A lister. So he'd love that. To top it off his fate is ambiguous and the subject to discussion to this day. Which is another thing Bale would go nuts over.

Besides, he gets a chance to fully unleash his cockney accent guv'nor.

Scott Adkins as Roach:

Roach being the character the player controls, doesn't have much of a personality, and Scott is a very low key actor. But Scott is naturally athletic and could really sell all the near misses that Roach finds himself in.

Jason Statham as Archer:

and Thomas Jane as Toad:

A 30 second cameo during 'Loose End' and their fates are even more ambiguous than Ghost's, so that would get audiences talking. Archer is a Brit and Statham has a distinctive voice, has a history with the Call of Duty franchise, and it would be cool to hear his disembodied voice guiding everyone as Archer. Toad is American and Thomas Jane is a massive nerd that has lent his voice to plenty of video games. Not to mention the kind of hell these two would raise together on set.

More to come.
