Did anyone else take these lines as double-meanings when Parker said them to Mary Jane?

Thats whole peter going into self-absorbed more was hilarious. His head was so far up his ass, it ended up on his shoulders.

I hadn't really thought about it that way. I guess it could be taken as a double meaning but I doubt they intended that way since the filmed this scene way before the reviews were out.

I was wondering why Peter was so encouraging. He should have told his woman the truth that she can't sing.

Just now the Trolls will come in here saying "The writers knew this movie would be crap thats why they wrote that line in the script". WAIT FOR IT.

Speaking of double meanings... the part when Brock (as Venom) looks at Mary Jane and says "Oooh my Spider-sense is tingling. If you know what I mean!", while wiggling his index finger.

So... what exactly did he mean? Because at the time I was kinda reading that as sexual innuendo.

I read Brock's line, as well as "that amazing, amazing night" line, as sexual innuendo. I didn't mind either of them, and even liked them. They could have boosted the audio on it, though.

As for the line...I think it's tongue-in-cheek. Raimi probably knew that this film was going to be criticized (as I find it hard for someone to type that out and not realize the irony) and allowed it in. Whether it rings true is up to opinion.

I agree, it was hilarious. His whole misinterpretation of what MJ needed to hear culminates in "I hear the little children, yelling 'Spider-man, Spider-man!", and the way Tobey delivers that line, the entire audience I saw it with was dying.
