That would've been the worst. I've got nothing against Nic Cage, I just don't think hes Superman material.

That guy looks like a mindless jock. Could his expression be more blank? Thank god he isn't Superman.

To me, the Joe Millionaire guy looked a lot like Supes. Im sure his acting wasn't great, but just his general look, I would've liked that much.

    This guy?

Since Routh is already Supes, they should cast that guy as Bizarro! He'd be perfect!

Thats the guy. And thats not a bad idea by you. He wouldn't have to say much, being Bizzaro, they could make him more of the brooding, silent monster.

Well, that's pretty silly, obviously you can't compare real actors to ultra-simplistic designs in animation. Bizarro is supposed to be physically identical to Superman, just weirded out. So yes, Routh would have to play him.

No it isn't silly. Your statement is pretty silly actually. If he was supposed to look EXACTLY like Superman, he would have in TAS, since it was merely "ultra-simplistic" animation designs. He looks NOTHING like Superman except for a few very vague physical similarities.

There has as far as I can see NEVER been a Bizarro that looks "physically identical" to Superman.

Of course, DUH, Routh would play him before he degenerates, but once he does, you could have that other guy play him, easily.

And he certainly is NOT physically identical to Superman. He shares certain physical characterisitics, but that's it.

Welling should play Bizzaro. Its within his range.

As far as looking back, I wasnt around this board when the casting process was going on. I'm really glad Brandon was chosen though, because every other actor suggested didnt come close....

Even a popular choice like James Caviezel, Brandon looks and sounds ten times more like Superman than him....and I like Caviezel, but I think he may be best for Hal Jordan someday.

    Joe Millionaire.....unbelievable...

    I remember when...

Brett Ratner casted Antony Hopkins as Jor-El.

McG had Stan Winston making the new Superman suit.

Brett Ratner considered Josh Hartnett, Paul Walker, Matthew Bomer, Brendan Fraser, Ashton Kutcher, David Boreanaz, Ian Somerhalder, Henry Cavill and Jerry O'Connell for Superman.

Justin Timberlink was up for the Jimmy Olson role.

James Caviezel expressed great interest in the role of Superman, but director Bryan Singer refused to cast him because he felt that Caviezel was "too famous" after starring in The Passion of the Christ (2004).

Johnny Depp was conssiderd for Lex Luther by McG.

Tim Burton's "Superman Lives" was far enough into pre-production at the time it was canceled that the studio had already designed a teaser poster to be displayed in theatres. It consisted of a stylized silver "S" shield set against a black background, with the phrase "Coming 1998" displayed across the bottom third of the poster. Finalized copies of the poster were printed up, but it's unclear how many were made before the movie was called off.

Michael Bay was close to directing the film.

Keira Knightley was considered for the role of Lois Lane.

people, Bizarro is a clone of superman, gone all funky. If you payed any attention to the TAS origin of Bizarro, he initially looked exactly like superman, then degenerated into the funky looking bizarro we all know and love.

In a live action setting, only Routh, or a near duplicate of Routh can play Bizarro opposite a Routh Superman. That's just a fact of the character. if it wasn't that way, it wouldn't really be bizarro then

    This is true.

We may see Bizarro someday. He seems like the type of character Singer would love to use. A tragic creation of man attempting to recreate a god....gone horribly wrong.
