Things You Don't Understand Thread

Because religion is religion and science is science and never the two shall meet!

Except in reality...

I don't understand how the world works anymore. Or my place in it.

I don't understand how people can't have civil discussions anymore without sounding like a flame-tard.

I am entirely capable of having a civil debate with someone who is capable of having one with me.

Nah, you're old.

Once you've reached a point where you start thinking everything that was popular when you were young is better than everything that's popular now, you've reached old man status. Accept it. It will make you a lot happier.
I guess it makes sense because like I said I'm 35 and when I hear my parents listening to stuff like Elvis, The Beatles, Kenny Rodgers I consider that as "old people" music.

Man I hate getting old.

Well, in a few short years you can ride the bus for free.....but then you have to watch out for pulling a Belvedere. :o

I still cannot understand wearing pajama pants in public.

I don't understand why people freak out when I say I believe in God but want to go into a scientific field. It's like dividing by zero or something apparently.
Because people are stupid. I am religious and I'm A-Okay with science.

Why they would change the style to this of all things:

I get changing the style, but why the hell put the spine text like that? I own no other DVD thats like that. What the hell is with that?

Fashions like...
Wearing a hat at a bizarre angle.
Wearing your pants below your underwear.
Neon clothes that make the 80's say, "DAMN!"
Wearing pajama pants in public.
There's more but, we'll keep the list short for now.

Hey, you've just described my church-going, Sunday best clothes!!
Actually, totally agree with you. Might I also add people who wear their sunglasses while indoors. What? You're actually afraid that 75 watt light bulb is going to burn your retinas or you just don't want your coolness factor to diminish by one damn degree??!!

People who wear their sunglasses indoors just look like pedophiles to me.

This is an interesting comment to read. Considering my 14 year old daughter wears her sunglasses indoors sometimes.

I used to wear sunglasses all the time when I was that age. It was mostly because I'm a shy person and felt I could hide behind them.

Okay, I really don't understand why blokes love football (English) so much.

Working in a sports and social club yesterday for the England match, and just found it so fascinating watching these 100 or so guys, drinking pint after pint and getting so incredibly emotional and wound up and then when a goals scored... my god, you'd think we'd just been told war was over or something! Screaming, jumping up and down and hugging and running on the spot :funny:

It's just weird!

Also, I really don't understand English weather these days. I mean, it's the 16th of June and there's no sun in sight, just sheets of bloody rain! No wonder we're so damn miserable, it's impossible to make plans to have fun!
