This is why you should never trust fan predictions

LORD OF THE RINGS: A real good look at Legolas (aka Orlando Bloom)

Do. Not. Trust. Them.

Actually, most of the posts in that AICN talkback seemed to be supportive or at least cautiously optimistic about the casting of Legolas.

There's always a few very vocal naysayers who hate everything in any group of fans. Just like there's always a minority group that will enjoy anything, no matter how crappy.

Fan predictions can mean something, if the sheer number of fans holding a certain opinion is large enough. For example, there's almost a unanimous prediction that the upcoming Dragonball Z movie is going to suck. Does anyone think the fans are wrong about that one?

I actually overheard a conversation in Borders between two kids who think the Dragon Ball movie will be great....they were standing in the manga section, so there's that

^ Plus, the operating word being "kids". Some kids liked the Pokemon movies too. :woot:

Who was dumb enough to trust them to begin with?

Yeah, the fans don't know what they want most of the time.

I loved Spider-Man 3! Yeah, I said it. When I came to the internets to talk with the fans right after I saw it, I was really taken back how everyone seemed to universally think it sucked. I still like it lots, I don't care.

how great would it be if the dragonball film was the best thing since sliced bread?

yes sliced moldy a$$ bread grown from the wheat of a **** planet.....

a friend of mine once told me...."Some films are not released, they just manage to escape"....if that thing wins an Oscar I will rock a DB avy for a good 6 months after....

how great would it be if the Dragonball film was the best thing since sliced bread?

The unstoppable cuteness of star Emmy Rossum aside, there's simply no way that's going to happen. It's the super-deadly formula of weak source material, plus low-budget shortcuts, plus unenthusiastic promotion, plus too much deviation from the original visual concept.

Guaranteed fail, mark my words.
