What was the point of Jericho winning the U.S. title at Payback, only to lose it to Owens on Smackdown?

Probably to fool everyone who knows Jericho is going to be leaving to go on tour and figured he would loose on the PPV.

I liked it. Owens had barely been US Champ for long so it adds another reign as well as makes him that much more heelish for taking out Jericho after the match. I expect a long feud between him and AJ to stretch out towards SummerSlam now.

In the storyline, Owens is the oppressor and hence should be given his comeuppance, even if temporary, at some point in the story. And Jericho losing twice in succession wouldn't have been a good look for him at all- it would have made him look like a chump.

Also, you fully expected him to lose at Payback, didn't you? So why can't one just revel in the notion that WWE pulled wool over their eyes so wonderfully. They seem to be mostly very transparent these days.

Jericho losing on SD was very predictable in a way and loads of people expected that. It's called 'heat transference'. The sentiment attached to this storyline and the face heat of Jericho to transferred to the next storyline and more heel heat for KO.

They probably will bring her up after this NXT Takeover. She might vacate the title and come up right after Backlash.

Rarely does the WWE ever call up anybody after a lesser PPV like Backlash. It's usually after one of the big PPV events. All of the recent call ups have occurred after a major PPV. Bayley came up the Raw after Summerslam. Samoa Joe came up after the Rumble. Nakamura, Dillinger, the Revival and Elias Sampson are up after WM.

Most likely she will be called up after Summerslam.

I think Nakamura's first main roster match is being saved so that's why we're getting video packages. I wish they had shown something else this week, like a package with interviews from Triple H, Regal, Matt Bloom, Balor, Styles, Joe, Sasha, and Graves talking about Nakamura.
