Thomas Jane has the Punisher 2 Script!

here's what it says:

I forgot to mention earlier in the day I talked with Thomas Jane a little bit and he brought up that he just got the script for PUNISHER 2, but he hasn’t read it yet. “I hope it’s good.” That got me talking about Roy Scheider and asking what it was like to work with him in the first film. Jane said he was great and that in that scene Jane wore white boat shoes identical to the ones Scheider wore in JAWS as an intentional reference. That got my respect, of course. The man knows how to sweet-talk me, obviously.

So Im guessing that after The Mist is done filming we just may hear something concrete about the sequel...Dont wanna get my hopes up too high but im liking what i hear.

It will be greenlit because Marvel isn't going to make any R-Rated films with their studio. They can't per the financing agreement so either LGF does it or another studio will buy it from Marvel.

TJ said he wanted to start filming in May of 07 so probably. I imagine that translates to July and it's probably a quick shoot.

Should be April since he just got the script it shouldn't take to long for it to be read by everyone involved. Maybe a few weeks...tops.

Weren't you the one who was preaching about wanting Marvel to get the rights back and doing the Punisher sequel??? A PG-13 Punisher would suck!! Unfortunately LGF may be the only hope for getting this done, unless Tom Jane wants to take it himself and finance it through a different production company.
