Thor: Marvel vs. Myth.

Though I agree with alot of that for myth aloan, Marvel has constaintly said that the myth of the PAST only applies in some cases.
The Eye of Odin Saga seperates the MYTH Thorr, from our Thor.
The "ELDER" Thor in that arc was alot like the Thor mentioned in your link, our Thor is loosely based on myth, some of the myth is blended into Marvel's Thor, which JMS does plan to do alittle more.

I understand you're showing others the differances, and that there are MANY different versions of Thor, more than what this guy has posted.
Example the German Thor is Donar, with simpler storys and powers. We can go on and on cmparing Myth to Myth, but the Movie is based on Marvel's Thor, not History's Thor.

There's all kinds of Thunder gods from all countries, but the Scandinaivian area's including parts of Germany and Russia are the areas Thor of Marvel is from, so there is still alot of myth that can go into any movie and comicbook for years to come.

I like the marvel version better, less hammer sex, less family man, no thundergoats, or "conspicuous erections", not a fatty like Volstagg, more rivalry with Loki, obviously a more contemporary feel.
I always liked the Thor with a beard look though.

Well of course; I like the Marvel version too.

This was posted to prove to people like NateGrey that there's more to Marvel Thor than just Doctor Donald Blake.
