The Avengers Thor's look in THE AVENGERS: What would you prefer?

Would you rather have him [as suggested in the SDCC concept art] in chainmail again or fighting sleeveless throughout the entire film?

As much as I loved the chainmail in THOR, I'm leaning much more towards the sleeveless/longer haired God of Thunder approach in The Avengers.

it's not a matter of sleeves but the design of the torso part of his new costume, especially the metal parts, is too sci fi for my tastes. I preferred the old design. the new hairdo looks fine. it looks great. 25 cm more and it would have the length of my own hair. the short hair in Thor was probably the only thing I didn't like in that movie.

I Really dont like the new costume, looks cheap and not unlike a bad wrestlers costume, to me at least.

I hated his wig and bleached beard/eyebrows in Thor. So I definitely prefer this new look. But as for the costumes, I think I like them both about equally. I'm glad they did away with the artificially-raised cape, though. That always looked awesome to me at certain angles, and just plain silly at others.

He still has the cape ..... and personally I think it's badass.

It doesn't appear to be artificially-raised anymore (based on that quick glimpse) though, which is what I didn't care so much for. I would never want him to lose the actual cape!

I chose sleeveless on the poll because that's Thor's classic look from the Silver Age. Having said that, I don't have any strong objections to the chain mail sleeves. Both looks are fine with me. I don't see what the controversy is about, really.


The long-haired look seems better to me, but either length is fine. Hemsworth is still the perfect Thor no matter what little tweaks are done to his hair and costume.

I was only really bugged by the bleached beard/eyebrows in that one scene of Coulson interrogating him, when they put him under the horrible fluorescent lights. Nobody looks good in that lighting anyway.

Speaking of which -- I noticed that in the comparison shots that RIM posted, it's not really fair. The shot from the THOR movie has him in really nice, warm lighting. The shot from Avengers, on what we assume is the Helicarrier, is artificial lighting... and prior to post-production.

At any rate... I don't mind the more natural look to his eyebrows. I just wish his beard was as full as it was in THOR.

Otherwise, I'm not bothered by the hair length or costume stuff. I dig both looks. I'm fine with the longer hair. I suspect we'll get to see two costumes for him in Avengers, including the "old" mail sleeves. Before I really decide about this new sleeveless costume, I want to see him moving around in it more... and for longer than .5 seconds.

I prefer the Chainmail just because it looks so nice! I mean i like the sleveless but the chain mail seems more warrior like. And i really like the Modern costume thor wears in the comics right now.

Did anyone notice that when he threw the hammer it wasn't the typical straight/ on target course? I didn't like the hammer just whirling around like that, its probably nothing but I just had to point that out.

I look at the sleeveless costume as his civvies, and chainmail as his dress uniform.

(Honestly, why would he need to wear armor at all? He's Frickin' Thor. He could walk around butt nekkid and have all the armor he needs.)
