How should they do it so it won't look hoaky? Could the comic costume translate to the screen? Or should they dress him like they did Eric Kramer on the Incredible Hulk movie? Or something completely different?
I at least want to know it's Thor when I see him. What MUST stay?
I say the winged helmet and enormous hammer are "musts". I think the boots could stay but be tanned leather. In fact, he could be dressed like Conan from the first movie from the waist down and have sleeveless armor up top. Metal or leather wrist bands. But what about the cape? How could they keep that? Should they?
Discuss.

I think his regular costume can work just fine quite honestly. Tone down those primary colors, make most of the costume leather (it would actually make SENSE for a norse warrior character). The boots can be brown and black wrapped leather instead of that yellow stuff. The wristbands black and brown leather as well. The circles on his chest made of steel. Maybe have some norse carvings/markings on them. Crackle with electricity when he uses his powers. Make the cape look like dyed animal pelt of some kind. The helmet should actually LOOK like a helmet and not just a steel skull cap with wings. Have it go down to just barely jaw level with the wings starting there and going up almost like Wolverine's cowl...The cloth material should look very thick and tough.

Absolutely.

The Asgardians are actually aliens, let's not forget, so they can get away with looking somewhat weird. And they are obsessed with the romantic ideals of honour and heroism, so huge flowing capes and elaborate helmets are part of the character.

One thing that must remain untouched by Hollywoods cocaine-stained hands: Mjolnir. I will never bend on this.

With the current trend towards realism within the comic movie genre, I'd suggest that Thor's hammer reflect this and as such, I believe that the following design should be user.

All the previous suggestions sound great, personally I think that Thor's costume including his hammer Mjolnir should remain pretty much in sync with the comic book version.
I mean the Thor costume in The Incredible Hulk Returns TV Movie was'nt bad for it's time, but for this movie,it should be done even better than ever before.
:yay:

Gotta save that for when he takes Odin's spot.

They're not aliens. They're from extradimensional planes that are closely connected to Earth's space.
