I thought this was just a debating tactic, I didn't realise that anyone was genuinely dense enough to believe that Brexit was fuelled by xenophobia.
Which actor is he?
I can't actually think of any British actors because I don't watch any British shows.
Jorge Garcia
I only ever mention him for psychocolossus's benefit because he has trouble discerning sarcasm.![]()
Brillant
Does CB have a big enough fanbase in the UK for BBC to tackle the series?
I didn't realize anyone was dense enough to believe that Brexit wasn't fueled by xenophobia. But I'm sure it's just a coincidence that hate crimes have surged in the UK over the past several years, coinciding with an influx of immigrants. And those hate crimes spiked even further after the referendum, curiously like the surge in hate crimes we saw in the U.S. this year after unabashed racist Donald Trump took office. And then there's Brexit's chief cheerleader and Trump fan Nigel Farage, who has defended his use of racial slurs. And oh look, here's Farage standing in front of a poster showing a host of immigrants that declares that it's time to "take back control" of the UK. Nothing xenophobic there at all. And here's a poll that revealed that many UK citizens ranked immigration as a top concern just weeks before the referendum. All of that isn't to say that EVERY person who voted for Brexit did it out of xenophobia, but it can't be denied that it played a key role.
Any good ideas as far as casting?
Hey, if this every happens, can Captain Britain face off against his moronic, xenophobic brother Captain Brexit?
Wasn't Blade born in England? Maybe you could work him into the group instead of whichever characters they don't have the rights to.
Bradley James (Merlin, iZombie, Underworld: Blood Wars and Fast Girls) for TV Brian Braddock (Captain Britain)
Sam Claflin (Hunger Games, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Snow White and the Huntsman) for a movie version.
Other options Rupert Penry-Jones (The Strain, Black Sails and Red Tails) or James Norton (Black Mirror, Happy Valley, War & Peace and McMafia).
Having a fanbase is irrelevant. The BBC wouldn't make a Captain Britain show unless it was a co-production with someone else.
