I've had this idea before. May I ask where you got it from? Is it a common idea that many people have? What characters are usually named? I myself often think about Captain Britain and White Fox (for South-Korea)
I just thought of it... but I'm not surprised that you had thoughts along similar lines. It just seems like a logical thing for Marvel to do.

White Fox seems like a logical move with Korea having some strong creative talent as well as being a huge MCU market. Haven't thought too much about other international characters that might fit this model. Suggestions, anyone?

Marvel have the rights to him and actors have shown interest in the role according to Feige. He is a character they have discussed bringing to the MCU.

A Captain Britain movie could certainly bring some fresh elements to the MCU. The Magical mythology of Arthurian legend, alternate realities and a UK setting.

This could be cool, as long as they don't get an American to play Captain Britain, because they couldn't find any suitable Brits, when they get Brits all the time to play Americans because they can't find any suitable Americans. :o

Excellent point :sly:

I'd nominate Dan Stevens. Decent acting skills and a somewhat rising name. Can do tv and films with no problems. Though he is on FX's Legion.

Maybe do Lionheart instead. "Captain America" is corny enough without making Captain Britain too.

Are you saying call him Lionheart or have the Lionheart character instead?

Because this is Captain Britain's original costume:

Well either way I was thinking more for the name than the costume. I just think for much of the audience "Captain Britain" might seem a bit silly.

If you're going to call him Lionheart and he has the 2nd Captain Britain costume with the Union Jack, people will wonder why he's not called Union Jack.

I prefer the first costume anyway. And that would fit with the Lionheart name.

But I don't find Captain Britain silly. I'm fine with that name.

I actually do think a TV show would work better with the character since they love doing multiverse stuff so you can feature the same actors in parallel universes. However, they might want to do high fantasy like when he was featured with Black Knight or more recently with the series that tied into Secret Invasion. That would probably work better for a movie.

Regardless, I like the character. I'm hoping we eventually see the Jaspers Warp story by Alan Moore.

A TV series could work. I don't know if it would be a British TV series though or an American one. Probably better to feel like a British BBC TV series so that it has that genuine Marvel UK feel. It could change time periods potentially from one season to the next, thereby giving it almost a soft reboot when they want to change things up a bit.

I'd definitely start him out in his original lionheart costume though before later transitioning to the union jack version. Knowing Marvel TV though, he probably won't get either. I think the lionheart one would probably be easier to pull off though without looking too silly as it's basically a red jumpsuit with a lionheart emblem on it. The union jack one is rather loud.

My thought is BBC America, which would mean it airs on one of the other terrestrial stations over there (or, less likely, BBC). Maybe whenever Doctor Who isn't airing.

We cast so many British actors as American heroes, you have no business complaining about the reverse. :woot:

Well if they're casting Brits as Americans because they think they can't find any suitable Americans, then it must mean all the Brits are better suited to play superheroes. But if they've been used up for Americans already then they've already used up their actors.

Hey, if this every happens, can Captain Britain face off against his moronic, xenophobic brother Captain Brexit?

Captain Britain deserves to be on screen. Euro's take alot of plum US roles I know it'd be cool for them to get their own signature guy finally.

Sucks the twins have to be split up though

I thought this was just a debating tactic, I didn't realise that anyone was genuinely dense enough to believe that Brexit was fuelled by xenophobia.

I'm seeing explicit Doctor Who analogies, so I'd prefer Steven Moffat. Actually, Russel T. Davies wouldn't be a terrible pick even if it would have potential to fly completely off the rails.

He'd cast whichever Game of Thrones actor he could get as he seems obsessed with it.

Brillant

Does CB have a big enough fanbase in the UK for BBC to tackle the series?
