World Timm Doing Death Of Superman

I loved the story arc of death of Superman. Can't wait to see it on Screen.

I'm geeked that they're finally doing this, and it makes sense to do it this way, especially if it's PG-13. My biggest worry after reading the Hype! article was the animation style - now that I see Timm said it won't look anything like his previous animation work, I'm supergeeked. The Death & Return of Superman was what got me in to comics, so this is a wish come true. I won't give up hope that it someday makes it to the big screen, but this will certainly suffice for now. Let's just hope for it's a serious take with some excellent art direction.

if doomsday looks anything like he did in JLU then i will personally hunt down whoever decided to make him look that way. i will only be happy with the original doomsday design.

Yeah...his image was really weak in JLU. But then again so was his purpose and character. The only reason JLU didn't put much into him was because they didn't want his title role that being of killing a main character. Still, you bring up a great point- visually, even 'The Death Of Superman' Doomsday looks better.

Oh, the possiblities. The DCU has so many wonderful stories. Think we'll ever see a a Green Lantern or Flash DTV? :)

Yeah, there is an artcle somewhere on this site and it says that a WW and Flash DTVs will be next:up:

Wondy needs to some love, so I hope she gets a good one.

Superman: Doomsday - produced by Bruce Timm and written by Duane Capizzi, from a story by Timm & Capizzi

Um...I'm not sure, but Capizzi is writer/producer of The Batman and Brainiac Attacks, isn't he? :(

Yeah:O But at the SDCC, during Timm's panel, he seemed to be almost...apologetic regarding BA even though he wasn't involved with it.

Capizzi isn't bad, and The Batman isn't as bad as it was in the beginning. Plus, I want him to make up for Brianiac Attacks! I'm willing to give him one more shot.

LOL...I lived with Timm and the crap he did to Supes during JL season one, so I can cut Capizzi some slack:)

That's a little more "cartoony" than I would like. It still looks cool, I was just expecting some Jim Lee-ish looking designs.

The only thing that worries me about Timm being so adamant about this taking place outside the Timm-verse, with a new animation style is that we may see completely different casting as well. It would be a shame to see someone else voice Lex, and if they ever got around to doing an animated Batman feature it would be downright criminal to have a Timm directed movie without Kevin Conroy as the voice of Batman.

I heard somewhere that Bruce Timm wanted to do a Dark Knight Returns cartoon using the same style Frank Miller used in the comic. Does anybody know if this is true.

If it's anything like the segment they did in the TNBA episode "Legends Of The Dark Knight", I say go for it.

It could be worse...:O

I wouldn't mind that, but I haven't seen Supes design yet and I'm very particular about that.

I like Lee's Superman because he looks young. I love Ross' Superman, but...he's way too bulk. He's like JLU Supes, and he was also too bulky.

I just hope that whatever they do with Supes they fix his lines...they have never gotten his body right for my taste:o

I wonder if they'll do the Death of story and have it be a trilogy where the first leaves off on a cliffhanger, then they make World without a superman, then The return of Superman, well, I think they can turn World without and Return of into one movie they should be able to fit that together.

Just have it start out with the funeral then bring in the four Supermen.

I also can't wait to see New Frontier, I recently read that story and loved it.:super: :batty: :gl: :ww:
