I liked this trailer better than the first but I'm still surprised they have made such a direct remake.

Why think of it as a remake? It's an adaptation of a book into a movie, it just so happens that it wss once adapted to a TV show. Didn't hurt Casino Royal much from the American TV version.

It's a great book like everything LeCarre does. One worries about loosing subtitles or even whole plot threads considering this is the first of the "Quest For Karla" trilogy and in movie form I don't think that will even be touched upon. Just the Whithall stuff and what the various agents and "janitors" are up to rather than the larger story.
