Titles that tanked harder than the Flash?

Superman/Action, forgot which one.

It was doing good with it's OYL ****, then it's like IF YOU DONT LEAVE THEN EARTH IS DOOMED AND ILL KILL YOU BUT FIRST....18 FILLERS!"

Yeah, no thanks. A whole issue that is Pa Kent going "hey I went to space once. Clark left me in his spaceship while he apparntly saved a galaxy from destruction. We never told you because we knew you'd get pissed, but you're not pissed now!".

Or wait, I think I'm combining the non-ending Zodd arc with the non-ending Camelot arc. Awesome. Swear to god it feels like all the past 6 or so books based on him have been fillers. Except that ******ed 3d one where he was in Bizarro land for three pages.

Firestorm comes to mind. DC kept that on life support for years.

What are you talking about? Busiek's Superman has been great.

In the last five or six months, Teen Titans has been going through what will probably become known as the single worst couple issues of its existence. Make no mistake; other comics might be doing worse financially, but no other comic has experienced such an astronomical drop in quality in the past year. And considering this past year includes both Wonder Woman and Green Arrow, that's a tall order.

That's not fair.

Teen Titans has sucked for a looong time :) It all started with getting Liefeld to do those two issues with Gail Simone. Ever since then this title has been cursed. They just can not figure out what to do with these characters. :(

It was killing Superboy that did it. It was like in high school where you've got all your best pals around and it's all laughs and good times and then the one guy who was the heart of the group's dad changes jobs and he moves to like Colorado or some ****, and everyone sort of tries to pretend things are the same but they all know on one level or another that that's it, the party's over and then eventually everyone goes off to college and never talk to any of the other guys ever again.

Wow, fifthfiend... you trying to tell us something? :)

Naw, it's just that the other analogy I came up with was "when the 'cool guy' in the boy band decides he wants to have a solo career" and this one just sounded more illustrative.

The first OYL arc was good, but Titans Around the World was underwhelming, followed by an awesome start in Titans East but proceded to immediately go into complete suckage territory and Amazons Attack just made it worse. BW's assessment of the title is absolutely correct in this case.

I wouldn't say that killing Superboy is what did it. Mourning over Superboy was done quite well in 52 and the OYL arc. But then it completely dragged on to the point where I'm pretty sure that everyone is freaking sick and tired of Robin and Wonder Girl b***hing and moaning about his death.

I hadn't slept in around 40 hours, and I was a little drunk when I wrote that. I should probably change that though. I'm just sick of all the filler issues.

Event he filler issues are good. (Well, maybe except that last one doing the origin of Jimmy Olson. The art sucked and the story dragged a bit.) The Prankster stuff was great though. New found respect for the character.

yeah,i really liked the first fill in issue, the one where the lady weakened supes and wondy had to come help him. but ia gree with fifthfiend, the storyline needs to becontinued, its momentum is kinda waning down.

I'm not saying it's the killing him, I'm saying it's him being dead. Teen Titans without Superboy is like trying to do Happy Days without Fonzie, it just doesn't work.

And I mean hell this was at the same time Bart left the team to go be The ****ty Flash, so it's like trying to do Happy Days with no Fonzie and an old-ass, balding Ron Howard as Richie Cunningham. I mean at that point what on earth is anybody supposed to do that's going to make anybody want to watch that show?

I don't think he was THAT valuable to the team, but the way his death was handled has definetely hurt this book.

I think it'll be much better with the new team.

They apparently still do. That's why she has been shoehorned onto JLA.
What the **** shoehorned? She hasn't been shoehorned anymore than Vixen or Red Arrow. She has more of a right to be there than half the other members.

I agree Teen Titans

Hawkgirl tanked waaaay harder than the Flash. At least the Flash was good when Guggenheim was on board.

I don't recall Hawkman being heaps better. The book was slightly above average when it was Hawkman, and slightly above average when it was Hawkgirl.

Most people think Hawkman went from slightly above average to mother****ing horrible.

It wasn't a sub-par OYL arc. It was a laughably poorly written mess of a OYL arc. NOW the title is simply sub-par. Which, considering the steady goodness of Dixon's original run, isn't good.

What was so horrible about the Hawkgirl title? I've been reading the Hawkman title previous OYL, and I've been enjoying it a lot.

Hawkgirl is what was horrible about the Hawkgirl book.

I still have hope for the Titans. McKeever is coming on. Let's hope he can pull the title back on track.

I still think Bart's death was funny for all the wrong reasons. Damn they brushed him aside like nothing

Maybe if it's the track of Bart and Kon walk in and go like "hey guys" and then the other guys are like "hey where've you guys been" and Bart and Kon are like "Not dead, that's for sure!"

And then Supergirl is like "Well I'm totally obnoxious and nobody like's me, so I'm going to just cease to exist," and then she does.

And then they boot lame-ass Speedy and bring back Arrowette. And start calling themselves Young Justice again.
