Just got this MAN OF STEEL review from someone whose opinion I value: "Very good. Massive in scale and action."
I posted it first, Monica. Sorry. lol.

Isn't that because no one has rated it yet??

I'm ignoring the tweets. These movies always have tweets praising the film. After green lantern, I'm sure it's all studio plants.

Not necessarily studio plants, just over-excited people who are happy they get to see a big movie early.

Although that imbd review ended up being fake, the idea of a 2 minute flight around earth did sound cool, if done right.

I've read that the full plot is already online. Is it legit? Where can I read it? I would swear that there was a thread for spoilers somewhere here in the MoS section, but I can't find it. :csad:

New review from a guy with comic book movie on their website. Minor spoiler and GLOWING.

• I think the one word I would use to describe this film (as cliche and overly used as it is) would be EPIC. The scope of this is unlike anything we have seen in a CBM. The amount of destruction in this movie is jaw-dropping.

• Those worried about action... Should not be. That is all I'll say about that.

This "review" is VERY SPOILER filled. If you want to call it a review. More of a spoil filled synopsis. But positive for sure.

Only once in a lifetime do we get such greatness so powerfully and vibrantly illustrated across the silver screen. It is as though filmmaker Zack Snyder truly harnesses the power to bring these fantastical, fictional super-heroes to life without compromising the essence of comic book action. It’s as dramatic or as far-fetched as any comic book page believes itself to be, but it isn’t condescending of its source material. This is the epitome of comic book to film adaptations.

^ I realized it was fake when Zod acted under command.

You sure? It's possible. We haven't seen it. Pretty detailed, otherwise. Although I see what you're saying based on his spoiler on who commands him. We've heard nothing about that take on things. Maybe I should have realized that earlier.

Actual Qoute from the review

General Zod, of course, is under orders from Brainiac to enforce the rules.

Super fake. How can you not know that is fake

@erwinmcmanus

Just saw Man of Steel and though we are bound to silence what I can say is it does not disappoint!
Superman has never been better!
Up...up.

After seeing the featurette on the home page I think

That they might go the Smallville route & actually have Lois (& perhaps even Perry White), know that Clark Kent is Superman & choose to show a degree of ignorance & help protect his identity. Whether this is true or not, or good or bad for the story, remains to be seen.

On the flip side there is something I wanted to see in the film, I wanted to see a large portion of Smallville essentially know Clark has powers & as a town, choose to protect his identity.
Honestly I can't wait for this film, it just looks like the sort of live action Superman I have been waiting to see ever since I started reading Superman comics. I hope they have taken elements from everything, be it the Christopher Reeve films, L&C series, Smallville, comics.. heck even Nolan's Batman series & use the good elements to produce a film worthy of the greatest superhero to have ever existed.

I'm gonna restrict my reading of the Man of Steel forum & indeed the watching of more TV spots etc as I feel I've already somewhat spoiled myself a little by watching that featurette as I feel I've picked up on a few spoilers, something I've actively trying to avoid... while reading a spoiler ridden forum.. ironic huh.

Ironically, I feel like the comic-book fans are the MOST excited about the film, whereas earlier on non-comics fans were like "Superman again?"
Now I think everyone's on board after trailer 3 and 4, though there will always be those who cannot accept an update of the character on film.

In regards to your spoiler speculation, I quite like the idea.
I just didn't want them to do an Iron Man and have the public know that Clark is Superman or there be no Clark Kent identity. Clark is an important part of Kal-El/Superman. He needs that anonymity sometimes for his sanity. Furthermore, having some small groups, such as certain Smallville residents and key members of the Daily Planet family, accept Clark's secret and protect it seems very much in line with the themes of Superman to me. It is a hopeful and optimistic take on human nature. That for all the xenophobia that Clark/Superman experiences for being different in his life, there is also goodness and acceptance. There is hope for change.
