So the first two seasons of TNG have already been put out on Blu with restored effects as of late and the third season is coming this April.

Alongside those releases, The Best of Both Worlds part 1 and 2 are being released as a feature on its own set with its own features as well as a 1 night theatrical release on April 25. I think the footage from Best of Both Worlds looks absolutely stunning and I'm definitely going to try and catch it in theaters.

I really like that they are mostly just going back and recompositing the original effects with modern techniques using the original negatives. (originally, the show and the effects were shot on film but composited on video) Even the things they are replacing or altering are just slight adjustments to the original. I think this is a lot more successful than the TOS restorations, which were fine but not my cup of tea.

What do you all think?

That's really impressive. I wonder why they're putting out The Best of Both Worlds as a separate release though.

I'm disappointed that they are not including the episode "Family" with the "Best of Both Worlds." Oh well, I'm definitely seeing the theatrical release on April 25th.

Paramount did an amazing job of restoring the PQ and AQ as you think the show would had been made last year
