i dont get how people can think this guy

and this guy

look ANYTHING alike, besides the fact that they're two young, white guys with brown hair and blue eyes.

i even tried to find pictures that are kind of similar and they STILL dont look alike to me, not even brother status.

anywho, gyllenhaal for the next.

Just look at their mouth and nose in the very pics you posted.

Their lips are identical and the nose is pretty damned similar.

If I had a bit more confidence in his acting, I'd probably like Sean Maher (Simon Tam in "Serenity" and "Firefly") to take the part on.

And no... I don't think he's "too old", because I wouldn't really like for the movies to keep the actors looking continually around 20...

On the whole Gyllenhaal/Maguire discussion... I do think they look alike... but like a caricature looks like the person it's supposed to be.
Most importantly, Maguire looks somewhat like Peter, and Gyllenhaal has similarities with Maguire, but the similarities Gyllenhaal and Maguire share is not the features that makes Maguire look like Peter.

Or simply put: Maguire looks like Peter, Gyllenhaal doesn't.

While ill agree that their lips are identical, thats where the similarities stop.

i dunno, i just like Gyllenhaal because he just reminds me of mcfarlane's peter parker, which were the first spider-man comics i started reading when i was a kid.

that and i think he would be able to put in a lot of natural humor that toby mcguire just doesn't seem to have, and that spider-man desperately needs.

for a new spiderman movie series, yes, find someone who looks more the part, but, for a replace in a squeal, people (non-comic fan movie goes) know the character by, face, to them tobey is what peter parker looks like, and to be continues with the other movies, you want someone kinda like him

but, in general, I agree, if there is to be a new parker, i'd want someone who looks more like the comic book version
then again, what version do you base his looks on if going from the comics, parker has had many looks overt he years, in the comic

I would like to see Milo as Peter Parker very much. Only he would probably play it as grim if not more as Tobey. And this time I would prefer a more light-hearted Spidey. Jake would also be even more constipated than Tobey and that's the last thing we need.
