I've never understood the concept of letting folks go and then spreading their work amongst those who are left. That sort of thing never ends well. :(

yeah it sucks. when sequestration hit, everyone's hours got cut to whatever they were supposed to get, based on their SF-50s. In the past 10 months i've gone from 39 hours a week and now that furlough is in place, i'm down to 21 a week.

some people were down to 16 hours per week, working 2-4 days. people don't want to work four 4-hour work days and some can't afford it, so i can't fault them for resigning to find better jobs to support their families.

We're having temporary layoffs, too, but at least with us, most if not all are voluntary. I am getting august and September off. They fight over it in my department, we have more people who want to go out than we have spots which is the way I'd rather have it then folks being scared. :(

The Spider-Man forums... ugh!

Well the next awesome remake of a British Tv show looks to be Utopia which HBO will be making with David Fincher producing and Rian Johnson writing the script.

It's the influx of idiots and kids that's killing the Spidey boards. Seriously, half of the posts are unreadable.

Also, hello from the Spidey boards. :o

My idea of whats going on in the Spidey boards right now...

Well he is being played by Paul Giamatti, after all...

The Spidey-forums have replaced the Bat-forums as the worst fanboy section of SHH, IMO. Its pretty bad down there sometimes.

Does Star Trek Into Darkness work as a stand-alone flick? My friend wants to watch it but he hasn't seen Star Trek.

I agree.

I'd also like to say hello from the Spidey boards. :o

I'd think so. It has a start that sets up Star Trek with the running around, then the film kick starts with some awesome stuff.

I'd loan him both films.

The sequester just hit my lab's grant. Now, if I hadn't planned to move on and we hadn't hired another tech, we would have been able to handle it, but now my leave date is 2 months earlier than we'd originally anticipated. :oldrazz:

I'm only lucky enough that I've been doing a lot of networking, and stuff is starting to pan out.

It sucks that the people left behind have to pick up the slack and get yelled at, but when it comes down to it, it really is every man for himself. The only people who can solve the problem are the people up top. The folks in the trenches are only delaying the inevitable.

I'd say he could watch it as a stand-alone, but it'll have more depth if he's seen the 2009 one first.

For as much **** as the Bat-boards receive, I've always been far more put off by the Spidey boards.

Captain Logan from Geekvolution promised something big if his channel received 10,000 subscribers

Man of his word

I would shake my knees for hours before, during, and after a jump like that
