It seems like when some actors/actresses win an Oscar they just start doing whatever. They hit the peak and don't really care about their body of work anymore.

DeNiro, Pacino, Hopkins...they've been coasting along for about the past fifteen years or so...DeNiro does stupid comedies, Pacino just does his patented mouth-foaming thing, and Hopkins does variations of Hannibal or generic sage authority figures.

i guess it's probably refreshing when they hit a point where they can pretty much make any film they want, no matter how stupid it will be

sadly it seems like that's how some stars have to start out as well. not another teen movie to captain america, not too shabby chris evans.

I thought Not Another Teen Movie was pretty funny. One of the few spoof movies that actually had good jokes.

i'm surprised at how much andy sandberg's nicolas cage sounds just like nicolas cage on snl

Well I don't watch a hundred a month like you do, but I've seen my fair share. ;) Bad is bad. It has no redeeming qualities, except the fact it was so bad it ended the Schumaucher run and brought on the Nolan films.

To me and others it has several redeeming qualities, and it's pretty funny to boot. Maybe the reason you have ulcers is because you need to laugh more.

Had a good evening tonight....wife asked to watch THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA again.......:thor::cap:.........that's my gal.

In order to enjoy Batman Forever and Batman & Robin (especially B&R), it's best to go into it with the same mindset you'd have if you were watching the 60's Batman TV series.

If you don't like the 60's TV series, then you need to lighten up and stop taking Batman so seriously.

Whenever I hear a Batman fan complain about BF and BR and talk about how great Nolan's "realistic" Batman movies are......I just have to think - WHY SO SERIOUS?

And that's what makes B&R so much fun. :yay:

What happened to Halle Berry? She obviously had potential as an actress. She was in 'Monster's Ball' and got an Academy Award. But then... what happened? She hasn't done anything memorable since.

(And don't say "but she was good in the X-Men series." She wasn't)

Like Schlosser said, she was never that good an actress.

Well, those examples are because they're simply older actors and unless you're Clint Eastwood or an action star, it's harder for Older actors to get good roles since main drama roles are dominated by younger actors. It's hard for them to make a transition from headliner to supporting role, though De Niro has a good one every once in a while.

I liked Not Another Teen Movie. It's the only non Scary Movie parody in the Movie series that I like.

Though I know what mean that he start out as a comedic actor and became the Captain.

Batman: Brave and the Bold hit the nail on the head.

"Batman's rich history allows him to be interpreted in a multitude of ways. To be sure, this is a lighter incarnation, but is certainly no less valid and true to the character's roots as the tortured avenger, crying out for mommy and daddy."

Please, enough jokes about ulcers. It's played out. I do like movies that are so bad they're good. I laugh at The Room and old Ed Wood movies as much as anyone. But Batman deserves more respect than Schumaucher afforded him. It's not a good movie. And it's not a movie that's so bad it's good. It's just bad.

I agree with you there C.....words to live by.

I still need to watch Halle Berry's Catwoman.

I haven't seen it, either.
Avoid it, it uses the name and nothing else

I'm in the middle of a Mystery Science Theater 3000 marathon on Netflix. A bunch of stuff is getting taken off of Watch Instant in a few days, and I've still got about 4 episodes in my queue.

What's up, buttercup?

i'm just going through a lot of stress.

Obama's pay freeze has really hurt my finances (i'm DoD), and now we're in a store-wide hour cut which has cut my paychecks by over 300 a month.

i've got a lot of bills i'm trying to pay off and get back on top but I can't with these variables and a million other things

i desperately want to move out on my own. i'm tired of living with my parents and my brother and i feel like this house contributes greatly to my depression. i don't even want anyone to come see me here and i don't invite my friends over cuz i hate it that much. i just feel like a huge failure at 26 living here, no kids, no love life etc. all that random woe is me girl crap eh

ComicChick, you're very smart & cool. You get through this. You have a job and ability to get more.
