I am salivating just thinking about some righteously good Sushi. I made some cash helping guys wash their laundry last night at work and it's going to be Sushi night at work tonight!!

Anyways, I am looking for some assistance from the female members of the Hype here but I need makeup tips (Unless some guys can help me out and I'm okay with that too if you're into makeup.) but I'm looking for good makeup from inexpensive brands (I'm poor!) like Covergirl and Maybelline that I can buy to experiment with the perfect look for my face. I have olive tone skin and any cover up that's really dark will make me look too orange. I need a shade that's meant for porcelain white skin if you girls can help me out. That and are there Smoky Eye Eye Shadow kits you recommend?

Try going to a department store & asking. I'm sure they'll be able to help.

I was contemplating that as well, but when I go to our Wal-Mart the people are so dern unfriendly or not as visible as they should be, I just feel like I'm bothering them. *sigh* I guess I can figure it out myself if I just browse the aisles and find what I want, but it's the foundation that's tricky because the usual foundation makes me look too bronzed. I need one that's for pale, olive tone skin. I get so confused and flustered in the makeup aisle I end up not buying anything at all because I have no clue what to get.

I wouldn't take makeup tips from people at Wal-Mart

Nope, BUT you can go to JCPenny, Kohl's, Macy's or whatever "upper" scale department store is near you. I'm sure they don't charge for asking about products. :cwink:

But would they be familiar with common makeup brands I can afford. I don't have a lot of money to buy things with so I have to find cheap, yet quality makeup. That and in a piecemeal fashion I want to buy some new clothes so I have something to wear to the theater other than my usual, work clothes. I want a new pair of boots too since my favorites were scratched up by my cat and sustained mildew damage from that God awful apartment I was living in.

Welp, you'll never know till you try.

I owe TM something :wow:

Speaking of which, this Lounge needs a new name. Where is Mr. Kane or a mod?

I remember a time where the Thread Manager never existed and post limits were 10,000 for each thread.

And that invokes the line: "Before the dark times. "Before the Empire". :jedi

No, they wouldn't. Although better makeup brands last a long time and are generally better quality. They usually have more pigment and you can use less to get the same effect.

Your skin type will drastically affect the brand that wil work best on you. You really just have to experiment on your own in a drugstore. Many of them, like RiteAid and CVS, will take returns on used makeup if you tell them it's the wrong color. So all it mostly takes is time. FYI, I have really oily skin and Revlon seems to work pretty well in terms of working with my skin type AND color matching, although I don't wear makeup all that often so I guess I wouldn't be able to tell a difference, haha.

In my experience, olive skin =/= porcelain color makeup. Makeup for fair skin is very very pink, not olive at all. It'll make you look like a ghost.

I have fairly light olive skin (as an Asian person), and medium tones normally work well for me. If they are too dark, go lighter until you find one that works. That's really the only way, especially if you aren't willing to spend money to go to Sephora or any of the department stores.

Mixing foundations to get the right color is also not unheard of. You could mix a foundation for fair skin (which is light and pink) and a foundation for medium tones to get a light color that's more olive than what is normally provided for fair skin.

Also, makeup and girly stuff in general goes into the Female Hype Members thread: http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=346919 . ATP can probably help more, but I haven't seen her around in ages. :o

 for Curb.

It sucks they are not doing a season this year, I need my dose of Larry David ranting on everyday things. :funny:

I saw a few episodes and dug it a lot.
I want to sit down soon and watch every season over a span
of a few weeks. Same with the Office(US).

I did that last year for Curb, I've never laughed so hard in my life.
