I really like Spider-Girl and since its about to be over, I hope Marvel puts Tom on a Spider-Man book.
Anybody else?
Anybody else?

I liked the narration. It kinda reminded me of the Marvel-of-old, when the editor's voice was always around.OtepApe said:He has some really good story ideas, but the whole Spider-girl narration thing is really annoying. He'd have to drop that before I would read anything else by him.

SpideyInATree said:Um, he only does that for the Spider-Girl story. Kind of a dumb grudge to hold against a writer, in my opinion. But hey...you're the one missing out on the awesomeness.
Besides Tom Defalco has written many Spidey titles over the years. If anybody remembers Mr. Defalco was the Editor In Chief of Marvel during the beginning of the Clone Saga. He also wrote many issues of Spectacular Spider-Man, Spider-Man, and even Amazing Spider-Man.
If you want to see Mr. Defalco's Spidey...dip into those back issues and support your local comic shops.
OtepApe said:I know he has only done that for Spider-girl, I have read some of DeFalco's other work. I don't see it as a dumb grudge, I don't like that type of narration, I find it annoying. I tried reading Spider-girl and stopped for that reason.
If you find it awesome, more power to you....I don't.
SpideyInATree said:Ok. But you seemed to imply that Mr. Defalco would be doing that to all of his comics.
And yes, more power to me. And less power to you.

OtepApe said:The thing that I find weird is most Spider-girl readers think it's like the Holy Grail or something. In truth it's an average title that has some decent moments. The only thing that makes Spider-girls light brighter is the current state of Spidey titles.
If Spider-man titles were actually good these days, Spider-girl wouldn't have half the amount of rabid fan boys drooling all over it.
SpideyInATree said:No one thinks its the Holy Grail. It's a fun book. It's Spider-Man's daughter and it's a story that was carried on from the Clone Saga. In the regular universe titles they can't even mention a Clone Saga, Baby May, or Ben Reilly without either throwing in a joke or just briefly touching upon the subject to peak fanboy interest
Nobody said you had to like it or pleasure yourself to it on a nightly basis but you seem to hold a grudge against the book because the fans of the book talk so highly of it.
OtepApe said:Pleasure myself on a nightly basis?
Oh I see that's 'wit', right I get you.
I don't hold a grudge against the book at all, I merely said I didn't like the narration and that's what put me off the title.
I don't mind if a book is fun or whatever, I personally just don't get it's 'greatness'. Besides it'll be gone soon enough, then we won't have anything to discuss about it.
SpideyInATree said:It wasn't wit, it was a joke...one that you obviously couldn't take. Sorry.
Yes, it will be gone. But then it will come back because it's merely being rebooted. So, the "greatness" will live on. And we'll have plenty to discuss of May "Mayday" Parker, the daughter of Spider-Man.
SpideyInATree said:Meh. I hope they don't drop the narration. I mean, who wants you reading Spider-Girl anyway?
OtepApe said:Well obviously due to the awful sales that the title is getting, I would suggest Marvel, the fans, the writers and anyone else associated with the title.
SpideyInATree said:For a book like Spider-Girl the sales aren't awful. And trust me, Mr. Defalco, wouldn't want someone like you reading his book.
OtepApe said:No you're right, the sales aren't awful. The title has just neared cancellation several times in it's history.
And how would you know DeFalco wouldn't want me reading the title??? You know him? If so, do me a favor and ask him to drop the ree-dic-u-lous narration. It's really annoying y'know.
SpideyInATree said:Sales aren't awful for a little book like Spider-Girl. And the keyword is "neared" cancellation. And the fans brought it back. Because that's what REAL fans of a book do.
I know Mr. Defalco from many comic con appearances. He's given me on the highest authority that posters who dislike his narration either don't get the fact that he's constantly trying to introduce new readers to Spider-Girl, and do something that isn't like every other comic book writer. And that most of the time posters who would debate this back and forth with a guy named SpideyInATree and waste their time...well, good job on flushing precious minutes of your life away.
