Action-Adventure Tom Hardy to Star in Gareth Evans' Action Movie Havoc for Netflix

HAVOC*
Spring 2025 | Action Thriller
After a drug deal gone wrong, a bruised detective must fight his way through a criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s estranged son, while unravelling a deep web of corruption and conspiracy that ensnares his entire city.

I just binged The Agency this past week and discovered the lovely Jessie Mei Li, who had a small role. Hopefully she has a bigger part in this.

You know how long it's been? I've had Havoc last on my letterboxd watchlist for two years... and I watch everything.

Looks rad.

The best part will be Hardy and Whitaker vocally dueling with their weird accents.

Actor wasn't the point. I was referring to filmmakers and producers who sell to Netflix.
Well, the same point could could apply to producer & filmmakers not so much in terms of eating but continuing to work.

Obviously, but my point is a bit more complex than that. Anyway...

Netflix used to sign deals with filmmakers to make the movies they wanted to make without any studio interference and the filmmakers get paid upfront instead of waiting until after the movie is out like everybody else. Gareth Evans already made a movie called Apostle that Netflix picked up in the development stage before they started filming. And then he signed a deal with Netflix to make this movie happen because he knows how tough it is to get funding for his movies. IE The Raid.

Timo Tjahjanto who worked with Gareth Evans also had a couple of movies under Netflix because he knows he will get paid and get to make the movie he wants. And now he's working with the studios with Nobody 2 and Beekeeper 2.

Holy crap the end of that trailer. Wow.

Hopefully Hardy is done with Venom and he can go back to do interesting stuff again like this and Mobland.
