Don't see a thread on this.

It came out recently, just wanted some reviews before I rent it from Gamefly.

I played the demo and liked it. GT gave it like an 8, so thats good.

I think skate does everything better. Its revoulutionized the genre.

skate is a much better game. PG's demo was awful compared to skate's. I am done with the Tony Hawk series.

skate just feels so natural and unique, TH feels much more like a button mashing game.

Matter of fact, I'm going to go play skate right now.

Cool tricks like a 1620 Christ Air Triple Backflip landing into a Handstand darkslide on a telephone line?

I would much rather pull of a tough realistic line than an insane TH esque line.

Tony Hawk was great in the 1,2,3 days. But it is so stale now. The only reason you don't like skate is because you didn't play it long enough to get a hold on the new control style.

It's tricky, it's supposed to be, you're supposed to learn how to do the tricks. Which is why right from the get-go you can do any of them, you just have to learn where and how to do them. You can do all the real tricks that anyone can actually do. Backflips, Christ airs, Rocket Airs.. It has a huge list of tricks. Just not insane impossible ones.

But once you get a hang on it, it's a really great experience and captures actual skateboarding better then TH ever did.

I played the THPG demo for about 5 minutes before I got bored and deleted it. I played the Skate demo all the way through about 3 times. If I had the cash I'd definately buy Skate. I had my fill of THPG however just from playing it for 5 minutes, and I have no desire to ever touch it again.
