I don't know if this has been discussed or not, but does anyone feel that its too much CGI? It worked in Sin City but here it just looks too much.

I don't know. Maybe I just have an eye for these things but it just looks so fake and computer generated. It worked in Sin City but here its just too much.

And, I wouldn't be surprised if people changed their minds. When Hulk trailers first appeared everyone was like, "oh this looks awesome." Then, when they saw the movie they're like, "Hulk looked like Shrek on steroids."

no no no no and guess what YES!!, I mean NO, the scenes look breathtaking, they are actually even better than sin city as they are in colour and can't hide flaws like black & white

I like the surreal dreamlike fantasy look of the trailer. It seems like that's what they were going for.

i agree that it looks great. i think if there were only a handful of CGI heavy scenes it wouldn't work, but since the whole film has been tweaked for a specific "look" - it works for me. i'm a sucker for visually different/stunning works and i think this one will make me very, very happy.

I thought that at first but the second time I viewed the trailer it seemed to me all just part of a stylized look, which is cool.

It looks great - it's not supposed to look too real or too comic booky - it's supposed to be a hybrid - much like grahic novels are.

The posters have a surreal look, as well!

:cmad: You should now be allowed to see this movie you are not worthly of its greatness!

Acutally I think the style goes great with the story. And that's exactly what it is. One man's version of the story of the 300. Nothing more. One of those bigger than life things. So why not have the visual aspect match the storytelling. It's like those old Demille movies. Might not be too historically acurate but fun to watch. After all, isnt that what a great story is. I know one thing for sure. The trailers alone gave a more thrilling epic feel and a sense of the mythic proportions of the story of the 300 than the whole movie of Troy did.

Has anyone watched the original movie about the 300... THE 300 SPARTANS ... made in 1962?

I just so happened to catch maybe the last 15 minutes of it about 2 months ago and it was pretty crappy even for a movie from the 60's.

I have, and I liked it. Its not anything like 300 is going to be but its still was pretty cool.

I think your confusing amazingly cool stylization with CG.

Alba Follwer,

I am a huge history fan, too, but....

Just remember... Frank Miller's story is not "accurate history"!!!

It is entertainment!
