On the website it has reviews saying stuff like "It's not just a movie. It's a new way of film-making", and "Every so often a movie comes around that changes your life. 300 is that movie."

Um...anyone forgetting Sin City?

It looks as if it is so...:down

It's just a big-budget version of Sin City...wait let me check that...okay...slightly bigger-budgeted version. But it still has a big company like WB heading it...

I'm angry at these critics. I don't even think they know what a movie is. They just flow with the crowd.

It cost $65 million to make and made $70 million on it's opening weekend. So they are already making money off of the film. That's atleast how i heard it being explained as a "new way of film-making". Cheap with quality.

i personally liked 300 better then Sin City - the drastic color changes in the latter just irritated me.

It's called advertising.

Someone from a studio is assigned a movie, and told to play it up as the best thing since sliced bread. No need to make too much of it.

Besides....Sky Captain was shot on green-scene sets too.....

Sure WB can advertise this anyway they want, what I'm saying is that the critics sound like they have never heard of or seen Sin City - one of the most raved movies by critics in 2005, isn't it like 88% on RT?

What the great C.Lee's saying is that those ads are specifically intended to rave about the movie as if Sin city or Dark City or any older film with innovations and stuff, never happened. It's not about being truthful, not in advertising...

All of the reviews I've seen mention that 300 is from the people who made Sin City....they just don't all get very precise into it. There is no need for them to go in depth into how they are similar....they just have to mention the connection.

I think some people need to see Ghost Rider again...

No, it isn't. It has 77%, what means mixed opinions.

I liked Sin City, but I thought it had been Pulp Fiction in new vissual style. So except vfx and great cast, I didn't see anything new for myself.

What about 330. Well I haven'ts seen it yet, but I ope i will like it. Why some critics say 300 is a new way of filmaking? Because it had very low budget for blockbuster (yeah it's blockbuster) and still it was very quality movie with good cast and amazing vissual effects, which didn't cost so much.
