Thaught i would make a possitive thread about directors. So i thought i would have a thread where you could list the top 10 favorite directors. They can be in any field. From old school hollywood to current blockbusters.

I'll mention that these directors did not all direct favorite movies of mine, but rather, I've read many interviews with them and listened to their commentaries and am most impressed with their artistic philosophies and their skill whether or not the movies they've worked on were of interest to me.

Now....I have to say it, I went over but I couldn't and I have to give honoarable mentions to Alexander Payne, Stanley Kubrick, Curtis Hanson, Peter Weir, Edward Zwick, Quentin Tarintino and Terry Gilliam.

Also, I have to say it....why is Peter Jackson so damned popular? He's done a few horror movies (a notably bad one in The Frightners) LOTR which was good and King Kong, which....well showed in a nutshell his strengths and talent as well as his ego and weaknesses. I don't get why fanboys think he is the end all be all though jsut because he did Lord of the Rings now.
