I NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE TWO BEST JOHN WAYNE WESTERNS ARE. THE TWO BEST JOHN WAYNE MILITARY MOVIES. AND THE TWO BEST JOHN WAYNE MISC. MOVIES ARE.

Some of my favorites...

Big Jake
Rio Bravo
El Dorado
The Green Berets
The Longest Day

Best westerns are The Searchers and Red River.
Two best military movies are Sands of Iwo Jima and The Longest Day, with They Were Expendable coming in third.
Best misc. movies are The Quiet Man and uhhhhh.....

Saddly I can only help you out in the western catagory...

Searchers and Stagecoach are his most cinematically important works. But I'd go with Searchers and True Grit for his westerns. Searchers won him the oscar and True Grit ****ing kick ass. As for a military flick, I'd try Sands of Iwo Jima, I hear that's great.

Well here you go(Im a big fan of John Wayne)

Searchers
Stagecoach
(Dang, so hard too only mention 2 of his films.)

Sands of Iowa Jima
The Longest yard

The Quite Man
His Private Secetary(spell?)

I own all of these and fully recommend you see all of these wonderful films.

Rio Bravo.
Chisum.
Rooster Cogburn.
In Harms Way.
Flying Leather Necks.
Hatari.

Um True Grit won John Wayne the Oscar Movies205

Western:
Big Jake
Red River
The Searchers
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
The Shootist
El Dorado

War:
The Fighting Seabees
The Sands of Iowa Jima
The Flying Leathernecks
Back to Bataan
In Harms Way
The Green Berets

Miscellanious:
The Wake of the Red Witch
The Quiet Man
Island in the Sky
Brannigan
Hatari
McQ

The love for Big Jake and The Shootist does my heart good :)

The Quiet Man
The Longest Day
The Sands of Iwo Jima
The Cowboys
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
Stagecoach

I have to say, i really don't like John Wayne. Other than The Quiet Man, I can only tolerate the other movies on my list, and that's due to the director or content. Wayne himself was a terrible actor. I really can't stand him.
