Entertainment Weekly picked its top 10 most powerful franchise characters in Hollywood RIGHT NOW. Their list:

1.) Wolverine
2.) Harry Potter
3.) Spider-Man
4.) Shrek
5.) Robert Langdon
6.) Jason Bourne
7.) James Bond
8.) Jigsaw
9.) Bart Simpson
10.) Madea

Who is the most powerful movie character, and what SHOULD be the top 10?

That's nonsensical. Atleast until I understand how it's ranked. How can Wolverine be more powerful than Potter or Spidey or Shrek, when they all make more money than he does?

Morgan Freeman in Bruce Almighty, maybe?

EW's reason for Wolverine being #1:

"A superhero with mutton-chops? Hey, he must be doing something right. Arguably the most popular X-Man, Wolverine is our pick for Hollywood's top character based on a devoted, built-in audience and early excitement over his planned solo flick, which could be out as soon as 2008.....with Jackman almost certain to return, it might be the biggest X yet."

Honestly, that's a lame reason. :down

No doubt it's this guy. He's trapped in time, surrounded by evil, and low on gas.

They mean power as in money making power.

Wolverine's the man, don't get me wrong but my vote would have to go to Batman

Superman and Batman were both listed as "on the rise" with their respective franchise rebirths.

Wolverine being number 1 really makes no sense..but whatever, lists about anything in hollywood are generally crap.

Wolverine made more than Harry Potter? I find that difficult to believe.

Most powerful character RIGHT NOW? I dunno.

Most powerful character EVER? Darth Vader. No, not Anakin Skywalker. Darth Vader.

Hollywood's biggest cash-cow characters:

1-Batman

2-Spider-Man

3-Harry Potter

4-the Pevensie brothers

5-Ethan Hunt

6-Rocky Balboa

7-The Incredibles

8-the X-men

9-Robert Langdon

10-Shrek

The top three should be:

Potter, Spidey, Shrek. From there, I don't have a clue right now.

Potter and Spidey should be above Wolverine. Hell, even Shrek should.
