Just to chime in on Indiana Jones. I barely liked it. There were some fairly good moments but this one just doesen't live in the same world as Raiders. And certainly not the other 2 as many keep saying. Both Crusade and Temple are far, far, far better movies than Crystal Skull. What doomed the movie was the lack of intensity, emotion and the pointless parade of CGI. When watching Indiana Jones one should not be reminded of Jumanji or the lame Mummy movies. Sadly, they didn't stick with character development, great storytelling and real moments of intensity and realistic peril. Once the impossible and ridiculous happens you simply can't make yourself believe in what's happening on the screen and you don't care. What I can say is that it's not unwatchable. The first half I found much better than the second. I did leave the theatre with that same Phantom Menace vibe.
Give it time.

I can't believe anyone was really expecting Indy 4 to live up to the others. It was even described as sort of a new direction by Lucas and Spielberg, so why would you think any different?

It wasn't amazing, but it's a perfectly fine summer movie. Certain scenes, ie. the motorcycle chase, really recapture the feeling of the originals.

^I agree, and I think it's better than Temple, that film stunk.

I'm seeing TIH tomorrow of course, so I'm looking forward to seeing TDK trailer again and I can't wait for this so-called 4th one.

I like Temple, actually. Under-rated film (except Capshaw sucked).

I'm off to see TIH at 12:30 tomorrow :] can't wait to see the trailer either, if they attach it!

there's nothing wrong with Temple. it's my favorite one and till this very day i don't get the hate. but yes, at least its better than Kingdom. there were critics who said that Kingdom is better, but I don't see it. at least temple didn't have awkward scenes.

but that's off topic.

I'm also seeing TIH tomorrow, I'll let you know if they have the new TDK trailer in front of it.

I don't think Indy 4 was better than any of the previous Indy films. The beginning to middle was good, but it was definitely in my opinion a notch below the rest. Indy 4 had that potential IMO....but Lucas copped out and went with the lame alien angle. That was disappointing along with the cheesy Lucas style scenes that weren't necessary. If they make another Indy film (which I hope they do) then I hope they make it more epic and more in the tone of Raiders or the Last Crusade. They should have Indy and his son go after the Spear of Destiny, where they would have to fight off different villain types from different nations (not just one nation) who want the Spear.

I agree with every part of this post.

Thanks! It would be nice if they brought back Sala to help Indy and his kid out for the next one. Keep Marion on the back burner and away from the action. Since Indy is married now then they should just have Shia be the one with the "love interest" so to speak who would be more toward Shias age range of course.

temple friggen KILLS Indy 4. indy 4 doesn't even belong- it's an abomination. no story, no danger, no threat, nothing "real"- it was all silly star wars prequel CG barf. lucas and speilberg are braindead.

I was watching the trailer again and I focused more on who was by the wreckage that joker walks toward while he takes out his knife. Originally it looked like batman standing in the background but then I noticed another person steps out from behind the wreckage. So could those two people be jokers goons looking for batmans body after he crashes the batpod?

Spielberg, genius. At least learn to spell the name before you berate one of the greatest filmmakers of all time.

my theory is that bats crashes or joker f's him up from some long distance, maybe shoots his tireso ut with his tommy gun. Then he slowly approaches batman crawling on the ground as his goons watch on?

just go download the script for Darabont's Indy 4 and use your imagination to erase the meh-fest you saw in theaters.

Agreed.

Also, no fridge nuking.

Nope.

Not at my theater, at least.

At work we always watch new releases the Thursday before they come out and the only trailers infront of TIH were Hellboy 2, Hancock, and Tropic Thunder. There may have been one more but I forgot what it was.

It's possible that it was attached to The Happening, but the projectionist I work with said he didn't build any TDK trailer, and we didn't bother watching that P.O.S. movie.

Damn I wanted to see TDK trailer in the big screen.

I haven't seen a print at our theater of TIH with TDK on the trailer list.

The midnight show had previews for Righteous Kill, Star Wars Clone Wars, Hamlet 2, The Mummy 3, Tropic Thunder, and Hellboy 2. There was another print and instead of RK and Tropic Thunder, I think it had Wanted and Miracle from St Anna or something..

Nah. Indy 4 kills ToD for me. Good stuff, good entertainment (for the most part) and top notch action. Different Indy, but Indy nonetheless. It was SW Prequetype greatness (although not as good as the Prequels).
