Age of Extinction Transformers 5 Official Thread

lol do you really think Paramount is gonna hop off this franchise's D, though? :o

Not if it keeps maknig them money they won't. But I don't think the Hasbro chief coming out saying we're maknig TF 5,6,7 and 8 like it's definitive because they're not making the movies ,so it's not their neck's on the line if the next one doesn't make as much.

All we know so far for sure is TF5 and an animated movie is on it's way.

The writers room does have some great writers, definitely makes expectations a bit higher than just having the writer of Age of Extinction.

Yeah. Tat and Optimus in space are what's getting me excited for the next installment, Bay can be a good director with a good script and the writers hired were talented.

Akiva Goldsman not writing T5 now.

After their Akiva Goldsman-led Writers Room experiment led to at least three movie ideas to extend Transformers, Hasbro and Paramount have set Goldsman to supervise a Writers Room for their G.I. Joe movie series. And they will go the same route with Goldsman to draft ideas for the Hasbro property Micronauts, with Goldsman supervising that as well. This change of duties means Goldsman will supervise but won’t write the next Transformers installment. Paramount is now negotiating with Writers Room participants Art Marcum & Matt Holloway (Iron Man) and Black Hawk Down scribe Ken Nolan to write the script together.

Take the movie won't be out in 2017 now as originally planned. It will be interesting to se e how they are going to expand the universe though.

I guess this is the official confirmation for Bay directing TF5.

Right now, in addition to 13 Hours, he's doing post-production on the next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which he's producing and which is due in 2016, and pre-production for the next Transformers, which he's directing for summer 2017. "I'm doing Transformers ... 5, is it?" Bay says, temporarily losing track. He shakes his head. "I've taken on a lot of work."

I hope we get explosions. Lots of them. :o

I'm fine with him doing it. Hopefully he follows along a guideline of the first movie. A little bit of action and good overall story.

Oh joy. Another 3 hour cacophony of baysplosions and bayhem. Cant wait.:o

I actually liked AOE, but they really need a new director. That or Bay needs to make them shorter which I know he wont do

At this point, I really can't fathom what a Transformers movie would look like under anyone other than Bay.

More **** blowing up and blatant ass shots.

Bring it.

I'm done with this franchise. Only two of the five films were watchable and the last one is easily one of the worst films I've ever seen.

There was a time when I liked Michael Bay. His earlier films were flawed but, I still found them to be entertaining. The Rock is still one of my favorite action films of the 90s. It's a shame Michael has not grown as a filmmaker. I feel like his skills show signs of regression during the past five years.

Ultimately it really sucks to be a generation 1 transformers fan right now. The movies barely resemble the original cartoon. The comics aren't popular right now. There have not been any good transformers cartoons since beast wars. The video games made in the past few years are the only thing good about transformers these days.

Again? Why? This will be the third time they go back, hasn't the city suffered enough?

The TF franchise is just like the Fast and Furious franchise now. You know exactly what you're going to get : loud noise, flashy effects, explosions, and a lack of substance.

As a huge G1 fan it pains me a little when I watch these films. I'd dearly love too a good writer and director with a new take on the franchise which brings it back closer to its g1 roots, both in terms of story and also aesthetics.

I'd like to see the Primus/Unicron origin story explored too, there's more than enough material there to whack out a trilogy.

Hasbro Inc., betting that the world has appetite for at least eight “Transformers” movies, said three additional films in the series are coming in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

The next installment, which was previously announced, is being directed by Michael Bay and will star Mark Wahlberg, according to Hasbro Chief Executive Officer Brian Goldner, who gave a presentation to investors on Friday. The 2018 movie will focus on the films’ Bumblebee character, while the 2019 sequel will be a general “Transformers” story, he said.

They’re all slated to be released around June of each year.
Hasbro, the second-largest U.S. toymaker, released the Transformers toys in the 1980s and built them into an entertainment franchise. In its bid to improve profit margins and maintain revenue growth, the company has more movies based on its biggest brands in the works. That includes a “My Little Pony” film in 2017.
Viacom Inc.’s Paramount Pictures has produced the “Transformers” series.

I don't even mind. TF is a franchise I'm with until the end.

Interesting. Hadn't they better get moving on the 2017 movie though?

I actualy have some morbid curiosity for this. The non-Michael Bay films also have the potential of actualy being good.

The Bumblebee spin off may be the one that interests me the most, though I am not sure who they could have as the villain?

Doesn't he have a rival in the comics?

I am hoping for Transformers 5 to have Cyclonus and Scourge along with Unicron/Primus. I wished they had Thundercracker and Skywarp, but with Galvatron being in TF4, there's no way to go back. Should've had these guys from the beginning.
