Transformers: Fall of Cybertron

The biggest problem iv seen with MP is you aren't rewarded for being a team player. The leader is always the person who has the most kills. Kills are the only thing that counts. Wish they'd take assists and healing into effect more(or at all)
 
That's why I liked playing Escalation more in the last game. I LOVED playing Ratchet because he was such a good support with turrets and shields. Whenever an ally was KO'd and needed to be healed, I'd go right for them to try to save them. I'd even give points to help them buy ammo or health if they needed it.

Yea I'm finding that i really enjoy Escalation as well. Wish you could use any character, altho i haven't yet played and not been able to use a character id like.
 
Like I said as a scientist I've been topping the list in deathmatch with more points than kills. So you do get rewarded. You need to mark people though to get assist and other points and bonuses. Like for marking multiple players in a single life. their are lots of healing xp as well.

I don't know how. Every match iv played the score is directly tied to kills. Have 18 kills, your score is 18 etc.

for me i get more points then kills everytime. last match had 16 points with only 11 or so kills. here is a match. i recently played. you will notice quite a few people got more points then kills in this match.

anyway just saw the news about the dlc's coming out, dinobots and insecticons, and also the preorder stuff is coming.

Thanks to a post on the official Transformers Game facebook page by Scott Calandra we get a look at a couple of the upcoming Transformers: Fall of Cybertron DLC packs.

Available on September 11th: Dinobot Destruction Pack, which features Grimlock, Swoop, Slug, and Snarl

Available on September 25th: Massive Fury Pack, which features the Retro Pack with G1 Optimus Prime plus the Insecticons, Hound, G2 Bruticus, possibly more

Activision sent me the PS3 version. I'll be doing a full review a little later.

Campaign IMHO is a bit of a let down. Playing as certain characters is awesome. The experience of playing as Jazz, Cliffjumper, and Grimlock are all very good. However, there's like no boss fights in this game like the first one. I think campaign was too short. I just wanted more. Wheeljack is only a skin for Escalation and MP, disappointing.

I think you need some kind of duck and cover, crouch, or wall hugging function. I get these guys are big robots but also remember they are sentient robots with minds of their own and not mecha for humans to pilot. I think if they make another game, adding like cover controls for the shooting levels would help a lot.

I won't say the game was rushed but I think it did need some more polish to it. For example, no coop. And not only that, but create a character and multiplayer is pretty sparse.

Honestly my general feeling is put this with the first one that's a more complete, fulfilling experience. These games to me (just overall) are really like one game.

So hopefully if High Moon does Transformers again they will step it up a little more and make it truly over the top.

But the best thing about it is the variety of characters you can play, playing as Grimlock, Bruticus, and the integration of the story with the gameplay in campaign. That I thought was really well done.
 
I have only played the demo but for me, it's a great thing there's no cover system. I didn't feel it was needed at all. You kinda take cover by having the correct arm do the shooting and have the rest of the body behind something. Having the overused cover/duck system would only make it feel like every other shooter out there.
 
Oscorp, it just kind of kills the momentum when I'm playing on normal mode and I get killed in like two shots.
 
Yeah, well as I said, I've only played the demo so I don't deny that you could be right and the game really does require a cover system. I'm just a bit fed up of the traditional Gears of War looking games. I like it in the Uncharted games, because it still doesn't feel to GoW-ish. But many other games who do it make it feel like a GoW-copy and if that can be avoided I'm just happy

I just jump and use dash slot. I do agree we needed some boss fights. I also wanted character selection like the first one had. But certain characters have certain moves. Like jazz and swindle or cliffjumper and starscream. But the dinobots could have been interchangable. The levels where made for a specific character in mind. Atleast after you finish the game they should add a character select screen. It would make replay better. Also no rage meter for dinobot levels after you finished the game.


For multiplayer I'm hoping they add a flyer friendly map. Like the starscream level with the big towers. It has platforms for non flyers but open space for a flyer and lots of cover. Would be like that warhawk map in the clouds.
 
Yeah but it's just so unbalanced.

And yes, in some ways this version is more stripped down than the first one.

But if you are doing stealth kills as Cliffjumper and sneaking up on guys and and able to crouch walk you should be able to duck and cover in some areas.

Dashing and jumping works in the more open areas. But in the areas where you are stuck in a fairly claustrophobic room, running and dashing and jumping won't help you much.
 
There really is no need for a cover system. The game provides you with enough obstacles to take cover behind without having to have an unnecessary button that says "cover". With the ability to switch weapon hands, theres no need for it. The levels are also designed in a way that allows you to accomplish each level without a cover system. It would also hurt the pace of the game. High Moon made the right call here.

Also the lack of character selection helps in level design. Each level felt unique here where as in WfC, they all kind of blurred together. I guess they could of given you 2 or 3 characters per level that had the same power set, but then you run into the problem of the characters not feeling unique.
 
Not sure how the dinobots will work. Maybe they will run as fast as a Titan or whatever class they are. And use only weapons for whatever class they are designated. I'm sure no flamethrower for matches other than escalation. Swoop seems the easiest for mp. He was a preorder character as well so they have him figured out. Though I haven't seen a swoop yet online. But I hope they aren't just escalation only. I only played 1 match of that and it wasn't fun. I like playing against other people not just the npc's. I'm looking forward to playing as slag, he looks really cool. also I love flying around so swoop will be really fun. All the dinobots look really cool.

As far as cover system I agree we don't need it. You have a ranged and a close range weapon as well as melée attacks. You can also transform. This is more than enough to kill things. You jus need to find the right weapon for yourself. My ranged weapon is always the thermal rockets. My close range varies depending on level.


So has anyone played against a swoop in mp yet.
 
Yea I haven't seen Swoop yet either which is why I think the Dinobots will be escalation only. I mean the dinos "vehicle" form just won't work for mp. As soon as you transform ud be a sitting duck due to the slow nature of that form.

Also what system u playing on? Ps3 or 360?

I played with a dude tonight who had swoop. He's actually 12th on the leader board(360 version). He claims the dinobots vehicle forms are the dinos so there ya go. Still not sure how effective they'll be.

We absolutely dominated tonight tho. It was me, that one dude with the dino and another guy and we were beating teams 40-4. I dont think we lost a match in 2 hours of gameplay.
 
they could speed up the dino mode to match whatever class they are, like titan, destroyer, scientist. not sure they would make an infiltrator dinobot. the titan is slow but being a tank is not too bad, but its robot mode is still better. whereas the destroyers vehicle mode is a beast. i usually stay as a vehicle when im a destroyer. 2 to 3 rockets as a vehicle and anyone is dead. it is really easy you just jump up and down and fire rockets.

I don't get it. It doesn't seem like there's a character select for all the Autobots and Decepticons. And I got the DLC pack so I want to play as Wheeljack. Wh isn't it coming up for me?
 
Wow that final level with The Autobots vs Decepticons aboard the ark was freaking epic , I loved that fight between Optimus vs. Megatron. This game is such an outstanding sequel to WFC.

You have to select the class in which Wheeljack is in which is Infiltrator go down to armor set and you'll see his name .

I didn't like that the game came out and they already had characters to buy. Why wouldn't they just be available with the game. They were obviously ready at launch. This nickel and dime stuff is really annoying.
