Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Beat the game last night. It's fun once you get the hang of the controls, and the addition of the new "transforming takedowns" etc is a lot of fun too. The controls DEFINITELY need some work, and in my opinion, the graphics look very sub par for next gen consoles. The game barely follows the storyline, which is both good and bad. The lack of cut scenes had me a bit confused because the story just progressed by the Transformers talking about their next mission - no real cinematics to speak of.

Overall, the game is fun. Good, but not great.

You can actually unlock a couple of episodes and there you can also unlock some g1 skins.

how do you unlock those?

There are several ways just look at the unlockables screen and it will tell you how to get them.

Here's what Speed_Demon (a developer for the game) said in the official ROTF message forum:

There will be a DLC pack coming out that includes a variety of additional characters both G1 and movie-based. It will also include new multiplayer maps, achievements, and a few misc improvements.

Characters and maps? I'm sold.

Soundwave sounds like a tall order. I'd love to see him, but I wouldn't hold my breath. They may save him for the third game, but I hope I'm wrong. However, I think we damn well better see Bonecrusher and Brawl, especially since they weren't playable characters in the first game. As for ROTF, Sideswipe, Jazz and Jolt should definitely be playable Autobots. I'd love to see Arcee, too, but I'm not sure how it would work. As for Decepticons, I'd be happy with a few more Constructicons like Rampage and Mixmaster. Ravage is a long shot, but I'd love to play as him. I'm sure the two guaranteed playable characters in the DLC will be Jetfire and The Fallen, since they already appear in the game.

Aside from Brawl and Bonecrusher from TF1, I also want to see Barricade, because he's a badass and technically he was never killed in the two TF movies, just disappeared. I agree that we need more Constructicons as well as Fallen for Decepticons. For Autobots, we need Sideswipe, Jazz, Jetfire, etc., but I don't think we need the Twins; they were annoying enough already in ROTF.

Finall got the game. It may be repetitive, but I just love the gameplay and giant robot combat. First I'll go through the story mode to get familiar with all Transformers, then I'll give online a try.

I saw the film, loved it, now want the game, but i really, really dont wanna pay 60 bux for a rushed film licensed game. Maybe this thing will go on sale in the next week or so.

This game's really tempting me, even if it's just for being Transformers. The gameplay footage does look fun. I'll probably wait for it to come down in price and until we know what the DLC is. If there's going to be a load of G1 skins i'll definately be getting it.

Fingers crossed for playable Skylynx (it'll NEVER happen)

Yea i think im gonna run out and try to find this used. Its doesn't look awful and its not a game id mind seeing in my collection.

Quick question to those playing this. How is the MP?

So, finished the single player. Definitely not worth the full price, but I love the gameplay. Super jumps, charging into the enemy, ground stomp and switching between weapons, it's just tons of fun. Gonna give MP a try now.

Played MP and I'm loving it. The only downside is that only 8 people can play online, but when you get a full team on each side, it's just tons of fun.

My favorites to use so far are Iron Hide and Sideways. Iron Hide is just badass with his firepower and deployable turret. It definitely evened out the odds in the 2 vs 3 match I had. And Sideways is just great with his sniper ability. Took out one Autobot and quickly the next one before he had the time to wonder why his friend just blew up.

Sounds awesome. 8 player matches don't sound bad. It works for Ghostbusters and thats only 4 per match.

8 players may sound like nothing, but when you play 4 vs 4 it turns into a total warzone. And it's just great to chase Decepticons in car mode and blow them to bits. Especially fun when they try to play chicken, but didn't notice that I just deployed a turret.

And dog fights are immensely fun too. Had one as Grindor vs 2 Breakaways. Sadly I lost, but I welcomed the challenge.
